Honestly, the trim I got was not bad, but also I'm pretty sure I can argue that I got one of thee most basic services known to hair professionals. I went in the other day to get my dead ends trimmed and that's it. I just might not be rich enough to think that $75 is an exceptable rate for something as simple as that. I had no layers done, no thinning, just enough trim at the very ends of my hair so there wouldn't be a blunt cut. That's it.
I also find it kind of rude and unprofessional that my stylist attempted to rush me out of the chair without even offering to style my hair (straighten/curl). I would like to think, and from my past experience at anywhere I've ever got my hair done, that that styling after blowing drying is quiet a textbook procedure. I suppose my stylist thought it would be fine to assume I'd "just put my hair up anyway" (after asking about styling) and didn't even bother to ask in the first place. I'm guess that's because she didn't book herself well and her next client came in before she was done with me. I asked for a beachy curl and she told me she would just do my ends. Lack of effort. I definitely felt rushed due to her poor time management.
Last thing to mention. When I had come up to pay and heard the price, I asked why it was so much and was told it was a "long hair fee". If your salon is going to charge such a ridiculous fee, maybe you should think about disclosing that over the phone when you guys were specifically told--by inches--how long my hair was and to plan accordingly when making my appointment. Great way to...
Read moreThere is nothing luxury about Shea Madison Salon. I called the salon after coming across them on google. I was looking to have blowouts done after having surgery and unable to raise my arms. I explained to the receptionist over the phone that I was interested in their monthly blowout membership and asked the details, along with if there was any commitments while I only needed blowouts for 6 weeks and interested in a two month membership. Over the phone I was told there was no commitment's. I then gave my CC info to lock my appointment. Then at my initial blowout I received a form to sign that stated there was a 3 month minimum. I immediately informed them that I was told otherwise and that I would not be signing the form or a 3 month membership. I was then told that was fine and they would work with me. I received terrible blowouts every time. I spoke with the staff on multiple occasions while I continued to receive the membership form via email to sign. Each time they acknowledge everything was fine and I could cancel. Then the following month I see a charge to my CC that I did not authorize. I called and spoke with the owner who was extremely rude and stated there were no refunds and hung up on me. Beware the vast majority of the stylist are all new and training. The salon is as terrible as the knock off...
Read moreHorrible. Dont waste your money! I had a "master stylist", was quoted around $300, but was charged over $500, then got an attitude from her when I didn't tip. My hair doesn't look any better than before she did it. I wanted my roots bleached to match the rest of my hair, which is a "sunshine blond" (gold tones). She pretty much did fine (thin) highlights in platinum, then put a gold toner on it, which has since washed out, so it still looks like I have roots, they just look grey now instead of brown. To have someone else fix it is going to fry my hair, and cost another $2-300, which I shouldn't have to do, as I was very clear before she started that I wanted the new growth to match the ends!
And judging by her responses to others who have been disappointed, she's going to have some sorry excuse, or try to bash me. Very unprofessional. Here's a clue "owner/master stylist"....Your end result doesn't warrant the exorbitant price tag YOU think you're worth. Other people do way better for half the price, but I assume you're in over your head with rent on that place....gotta cover it. And don't even suggest that I should've given you a chance to fix it. No....You should've done it right the first time at $500+! It's haircolor 101. With so many bad reviews, all having the same basic complaints, maybe the...
