This is the best dog park I've been to. Very thoughtful. There are three fenced in play areas, the big dog section, small dog section, and senior dog section. Every entrance is fenced in separately so that there aren't accidental escapes. Each section also has a trash can and complementary poop bags. They have water stations that have a water fountain for humans, a water bottle filler and a dog bowl fountain for your fur babies. There's shaded seating for the owners, though not nearly enough for all the dog owners. It never seems to be an issue though. There's a rack to hang up dog collars. And there is, of course, a bright red fire hydrant. The senior dog section is great for any particularly anxious dogs because it's usually not full. My dog loves it so much that he recognises the route two streets away and starts crying dramatically to get out and play.
Warning the parking can get full, but people just park along the drive way up.
Updated from 5 to 4 stars because the benches have gaps in the slats big enough for paws to get stuck in. Witnessed a poor little Boston Terrier scream in pain when his hind leg got stuck and twisted. Make sure to keep your dogs...
Read moreI wish I knew about this place when we first got our puppy! Brought our 3 year old small dog here a month or so ago and no major incidents whatsoever! (Historically he got bit by 2 large dogs). And it's because this park is divided into 3 sections! Large, small and senior (I've yet to see anyone use the senior section). The park is well maintained and gives dogs plenty of space to run around. Gives owners of dogs who like to run off peace of mind. If i didn't move and live over 30 miles away from it now I would go visit there every week.
Update: We recently brought our 5 month old small puppy here to play, and still no incidents! Owners generally bring good tempered dogs and that helps so much. It's safer than other nearby dog parks that don't have sections by size, and certain apartment complexes that "ban" dangerous dogs, which were both places where my previous...
Read moreGreat addition to quincy area! It can get over crowded quick with dogs and people.(children due attend). A lot of first time dog owners! A lot of intact males. My concern is that there are so many puppies not all of them can't be fully vaccinated due to the age of some of these puppies owners are bringing?! ( if your puppy is younger than 3+ months old your puppy has not got all its shots. Your puppys health is the most important thing and putting your dogs health at risk being around other dogs higher the risks of transmitting or giving worms to other dogs). Unfortunately, not all owners of older dogs are truthful as well to their dogs updated shots so take that into account as well as having people touch your dog! Last thing, give people 6 ft distance, avoid touching peoples dog, learn about good horse play between dogs because unsupervised always...
