Had the worst experience shopping for stationary. The employee helping us was rude and aggressive. She took a phone call with a different client during our appointment during which time yelled at that client about how it was too late to make any changes to her order. We awkwardly sat waiting for her call to be done, during which time other customers were starting to notice the yelling in the stationary area and were watching. We didn't place an order, we were just looking at samples to get ideas. She asked us for our credit card, was asked why and she said it was for a hold, wrote it in pencil "so she could erase it later." A few days later we had an over $600 charge on our card for save the dates. We had never picked out save the dates, discussed the number needed, etc... I asked for velum/ribbon/wax seals and she wouldn't answer questions about these since I didn't need them, I was "looking in the cheap book." I had an idea that I was excited about for custom artwork for the save the dates, to which she said "you don't really want that on your save the dates?" "oh you do?" "why?" It was supposed to be a 2 hour appointment. It was 40 minutes. It felt rushed, awkward, and dismissive, maybe because I was looking in the "cheap book." (there is nothing cheap in the Little House Shop) I received multiple emails and texts from the employee in the following days asking for pictures of color schemes that I liked so she could send them to the artist to begin working. We had picked NOTHING, not the custom artwork, the wording of the save the dates or invitations, the color scheme or layout, absolutely nothing, and I don't know what the artist was supposed to work on before even knowing what I wanted. I don't want to go back into this store, ever, but I've been there dozens of times before. My family goes/used to go there frequently. No one has gone back. There are probably lovely and professional women who also work there, but if you choose to go and you are working with initials MS, please save yourself the experience of being spoken to like you are being yelled at by an overly aggressive youth...
Read moreShopped here for years as the space is charming and has unique gifts (thus why I'm giving 2 stars), however, when you consider the rude management and lack of customer service skills, it's not really worth your time. There are so many cute shops and boutiques on the mainline, you're sure to have a better experience somewhere else without burning a deep hole in your pocket-book. I have tried multiple times to shop in this store recently, once with my niece as a witness, and the vibe has not changed. You're swarmed by women who are just on you, incessantly, so you don't really have an opportunity to contemplate and/or fantasize what things might look like in your home or what you might like because they're chiming in your ear. I'm a good 10 years older than these ladies, and I've been tempted to ask them simply to respect an older woman's space. Today I had my niece try and return an item that I asked her to look for, and they invented a strict return policy about this specific brand and they wouldn't credit the sale item she purchased because today was the "7th" day. I mean, it's just hog wash. And then my favorite part is how they have to discuss it with each other, and then check with management, and then it becomes this whole ordeal in front of other customers. Just stop already. I took my business elsewhere and have never regretted it. Shopping for others should be fun and enjoyable, not anxiety provoking...
Read moreI have never, ever been treated so poorly! And by the OWNER for that matter! While I was being checked out, the attendant asked if I wanted a little gift I was purchasing gift wrapped? I said, “Sure! Thanks!” The owner swung around and reminded her that that item was 75% off and “no can do”! I was stunnned. Then was told maybe they could find me some scraps to wrap it with. WTHeck?? How about all the other things I was buying at FULL PRICE?? And let’s not forget the gift was 2x2 inches! I walked out. Having just left Valley Forge Fowers next door with an amazing customer service experience, I felt pistol whipped. I’ve never written a review before, but holy cow- that was an outrageous experience. Skip this place- it...
