Despite being from New Orleans where voodoo is widely known and practiced in the open, I was on the fence about crystals. I came here after seeing the local medium I go to. He suggested getting obsidian and selenite as starter crystals to protect my energy in the work I do. This shop was the best option when it was close to 5pm, when many similar shops in the area are closing. I was on the fence when I read about the parking situation, but it was easy to park for free before 5pm. I also noticed staff were helpful and quick to respond when others needed their parking validated after 5pm. I'm glad I went in person, because I noticed it can be hard to gauge how a crystal will feel over the internet. I like the feel and energy of the shop as a whole. It's laid back, nonjudgmental, and I was allowed to browse on my own time without feeling hurried in any way. There's a variety of items, including free and books for pay, there's resources for people in the area to reach out to for different services, and they have free and paid classes. I almost went to the free ruins class on Sunday. I was excited that the instructor was quick to respond when I asked the same day if there were openings. There was also a paid Reiki class that looked interesting that was going on in the back. There's definitely a variety of items to choose from. I also like that all the items in the shop appear to be well organized and a number are labeled with possible benefits. There also didn't seem to be any restrictions or awkwardness around taking pictures of things in the shop. I'm glad that's the case, because it's different than similar shops in the area. It benefited me to take a picture, because I didn't buy the Indian Agate the first time I visited, despite feeling particularly drawn to it. I ended up returning the following week for it. I couldn't find much information about Indian Agate that is the same color as the one in the picture included and the staff didn't seem to know if it went by any other names or if there was a place or way I could get more Indian Agate from their shop. I wasn't exactly looking for a whole tower, but I'm glad that I was able to get it here. Despite the ease I saw people have in getting their parking validated on my first visit, I'm not sure if they need 2 associates before 3 pm on weekdays. I noticed they were busy socializing at times when I had questions. There was also a point when an associate said she would find out more about the Indian Agate and walked away. I thought it was implied that she would return to where I was standing near the Indian Agate, but after waiting a while I saw that she returned to socializing in the front. It didn't appear that she intended to return. The socializing amongst themselves also delayed checking out. I feel bad pointing out that the staff appear to be friends, and I don't necessarily expect to be included in the conversations being had. I just would like help with questions and checking out in a timely manner. I also don't mind small talk, but they weren't socializing with customers when I was there. I am new to crystals, and I noticed that I really like the carved ones. For example, the Nightmare Before Christmas, Hello Kitty, and broomsticks are all very adorable. While I'm inclined to believe most items in the shop are priced appropriately and fairly, I did feel a little bummed to find out that I paid $30 more for Jack the Pumpkin King Obsidian there when there's an Etsy shop that has all the Nightmare Before Christmas, Hello Kitty and many other carvings for a fraction of the price. Both state their crystals are ethically sourced. I don't blame the shop for this and understand Etsy doesn't need to pay rent and utilities the same way a brick and mortar shop does. I just think part of me buying responsibly is looking into things and knowing when something is worth a splurge or if I can get 5 similar things for the same price on Etsy. I will definitely continue to shop here, because they have a great and unique variety of items.

I was very nervous about coming in here because I am new to wicca in general and did not know many things, but the entire experience I had was amazing. They had a wide variety of things to choose from with information displays on close to all of them. The staff was super kind and one, when noticing I had picked out a book from the beginner wicca section told me about a magick 101 class that would be occurring soon if I had any interest. They have a list of classes and sessions you can book by the door as well which I will definitely be trying out soon. All their books are labeled and divided into sections to make shopping super easy, and they have testers for the vast majority of objects. Prices can range from pretty expensive (from a jobless person’s point of view) to very cheap (tiny candles for only $.35!). Overall I LOVED the shop and will for sure be coming back soon!!

An enriching experience awaits at Dancing Moon! A recommended gem from The Bag Lady in Charlotte, this Raleigh haven envelops you in a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The store boasts a diverse and extensive library, as well as a captivating array of tarot decks to explore. What truly sets it apart are the unique finds—deep sea brain coral, vivianite, and chrysocolla—stones that pique both curiosity and spiritual insight. Dancing Moon is an essential stop for any spiritual seeker visiting Raleigh; I can't wait for my next visit!

I bought a crystal pendant from this store this past December. I paid atleast $20 for it but I’m pretty sure it was more, regardless it was not sterling silver but a cheap coating. I emailed them about a refund but informed them I had no receipt, and I was told to bring the crystal in for them to see. Upon doing this, I was told (despite them already knowing I had no receipt) that nothing could be done but to LEAVE THE PENDANT AT THE STORE and they’d “get back to me”. After probably two weeks with no phone call or email from them, I emailed them again asking about a solution. The manager offered me a $15 store credit, which I accepted. Just today I went to go spend my store credit because I needed an oil (also, I was never told there was an expiration of any kind on this credit) and showed an employee the emails on my phone proving the credit was legit and she knew it was and I began looking for an item to get. The employee comes to me a minute later saying “my manager says that you can’t use your store credit”, and she got the manager so I could show her the emails about this issue. TO HER FACE I SHOWED HER EMAIL AND MY ACCEPTANCE OF HER CREDIT OFFER, and was met with “why are you doing this? Only $15 but no more!! I’m done with this!! I never gave you a store credit!!” To which I decided to simply leave due to her APPALLING attack and refusal of legit evidence and COWARDLY, HORRIBLE, UNACCEPTABLE TREATMENT OF A CUSTOMER BUT ONE OF OVER TWENTY YEARS NO LESS. She said these things to me loud enough for others to hear and because of anger, embarrassment, and them not deserving my nor ANYONE’s service, I left calmly and WILL NEVER SHOP THERE AGAIN. I tried contacting the owner and also tried filing a complaint with the BBB, with no luck. NO EXCUSE FOR THIS TREATMENT, NO EXCUSE FOR THE CURRENT MANAGER TO BE...

Someone recommended me to visit here for herbs and spiritual meaning jewelry/stones. I was greeted when I walked in and asked the women at the front about the things I was looking for. She acted as if she was confused and unsure and tried to point me in the right direction. I’m reading through the binder they pointed me to, and one women comes and stands near me and started wiping down shelf’s which was only 3 levels. Im standing there for at least 20 mins reading through the pages. So at that point I feel like she is watching me…but for what??? Cause I’m black. There was a Caucasian women in the store with me at the time and no one was watching her. I felt very uncomfortable at that point and decided to grab the herbs I came in for and go check out. I get to the register and I asked another question about jewelry/ stones once again the lady looks confused and lost to what I’m talking about and gives a snobbish response. I then go look at what she is pointing to and her and another lady stands there and says, “I guess take your time”, under her breathe in a rude way, mind you no one else was in the line. Then while they are ringing me up, one of the herb bags was opened and she asks very rudely, “did you open this to smell it?”, I politely said “no”. I’m ashamed of spending the $20 I spent in there and I will not be back. Very unacceptable...
