Fred Fletcher Park — Attraction in Raleigh

This is a great place to visit on a fall day. It features multiple sport/multipurpose fields, an amphitheater, swings, old school diggers in a sand box, tennis and basketball courts, a walking path, a picnic shelter, and a wedding/event space. The only thing that would make this park perfect is a restroom with running water. They have a porta potty, but the area around it doesn't smell great. We attended the Raleigh Arts Festival here for the second year in a row. The festival is definitely an event to attend. It is early enough in the season to purchase gifts for your family. There were a wide variety of artists with pottery being my favorite. Fletcher Park is centrally located and has places for strolling and sitting to enjoy music or just the views. Fantastic park! They’ve got something for everyone: tennis courts, basketball courts, big fields, picnic tables, soccer fields, a playground, and a beautiful garden. Much of the park is also handicap accessible. One downside is that they don’t really have bathrooms. Sometimes there’s one port-a-potty, but often there’s none or it’s locked.
