I’ve visited here three times in the last 6 months and I thought my first experience was great. All of the food was good, and the service was excellent.
The last two times I’ve been, however, I’ve had the same consistent issues, and I read over reviewers with the same experience so I think it would be good to comment because I really want to continue to come back and I think these issues could be resolved.
Service during rush: I’ve been in the industry and I know it can be insane trying to manage multiple large parties and smaller ones. That said, it doesn’t feel like waiters have sections so twice in a row we weren’t approached for even waters for more than ten minutes after being sat.
Food: the menu and food concepts themselves are really good but it seems like a lot of the food is being rushed and not properly made…. For one, the buffalo sauce has absolutely zero taste. Someone else said this too. I highly recommend that this changes. When I say zero flavor I mean zero.
That said, and someone mentioned this before me, the food has been consistently burnt/overcooked my previous two visits. I’ve had to add salt just to counter the char on my food. The flavor beyond that was good, so it’s pretty apparent that there needs to be more care in cooking. I know it’s busy but…. It’s really disappointing. I witnessed three different plates being sent back from different tables. I was too hungry to do it.
I really like this place and know it’s a local favorite, I just feel that the community deserves the experience they pay for, love, and even vote for when it comes to supporting...
Read moreas a minted 3-year resident of downtown Raleigh, I have tried a significant amount of the food and beverage venues scaling from the middle eastern run hotdog stands at 3am, to the finest dining in Raleigh that would leave Chef Gusteau more shook than seeing a rat in Linguinis hat. I came here tonight for a late night bite but left transcended to a higher level of spirituality. This place is not a restaurant, but a house, a house of God. The service reminded me of Imperial Britain when Her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II had staff and ladies in waiting. The atmosphere is what Michelangelo attempted whilst painting the ceilings of the Sistine Chapel. During my time intricately devouring the food while allowing each one of my 8,000 tastebuds relish in the joys of life, there was peace in the Middle East, there was no Russia vs Ukraine, laws were being passed bipartisan like never before. P Diddy was irrelevant as the only noodle on my mind was that of the My Way Cajun Pasta, and the only tenders I was tasting was their Buffalo tossed chicken strips. I found my 13th reason, reason to live. Our first waiter Kohl, would have run any department store out of business as he runs his shift like the Marines invading the beaches of Iwo Jima. Our second waitress Brit had me hearing God Save the King sung by choir boys backed by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. I was treated like a King,...
Read moreI genuinely like this place. I have been in here almost once a week for the better part of a year. They hire good staff, most are friendly. They have a good selection of beers. Their pours are honest and reasonable for the location. It’s a good place to watch a game in the neighborhood. And the food, once great, has fallen off a cliff. Baja tacos, once amazing, are now awful. The last time I was in here there was a dead roach in my salad. I’m leaving up my previous reviews but I’m not likely to come back here until I find out why the kitchen fell down here and know what they have done to fix it.
My Way Tavern is a great neighborhood bar/restaurant. The food is solid. Good selection of beers and house cocktails. And the game you want to watch is probably on one of the televisions. Service is attentive and friendly. My last trip in I got the meatloaf sandwich and it was delicious. It’s the meatloaf you wished your mom had made and the zippy horseradish sauce takes it to the next level. I almost wish I hadn’t ordered it because I haven’t explored much of the menu and I know when I come back I’m gonna get that meatloaf sandwich again because I’m already craving it as I write...
