Summery: THEY WILL NOT BE TRANSPARENT WITH YOU. They made me wait over 3 months for my custom ring, telling me since the pickup date to come back every other week afterwards and giving me an excuse to why it wasn't ready. When I finally got it was a rush job, the wrong size, wrong setting, crooked and when they finally fixed it weeks later, they tried to scam me with 10kt gold ring when I paid for a 14kt gold ring. Looking at some the reviews on YELP, I feel some other people have experienced similar things. Management, if you're reading this hit me up.
Long version: Bought a new setting for my engagement ring and they said it would take 2-3 weeks. Came in at the designated pickup date and they said it'd be another 2 weeks. Came back again another two weeks later and they said its been a while and they put away in storage and to wait another week while they ship it back to the store. I came back again they said it was locked in their jeweler's box and cant open it, so I had to come back again.
AFTER 3 months since I've ordered, I called ahead and they said it was done, went to go finally pick up the ring and had to wait 45 minutes for it to be "polished", and when I got it, it was the wrong size (the whole reason why we upgraded our ring in the first place), it was the wrong setting, it wasn't centered, overall a rush job, it wasn't even polished which makes me believed they literally just slapped my diamond onto the ring within the hour.
Was told it would take another week to get it done, and said they would send me pictures and keep me updated this time. They didn't follow up or keep me updated until I called them. I come back pick up the ring, and it looks significantly better before, but I check the ring's stamp and it said 10KT when I paid for a 14KT gold ring. Came back the next day and they didn't make a big deal about it and said the price difference wasn't that much. But its more about the principle of lying and attempting to pass off a cheaper product for something else I paid for. They then said all management can offer me is $100 and that's including all the inconveniences they caused me (which I doubt they told management that part), which isn't enough but I took anyways because having them take the ring back and then traveling back and forth another 4-6 times over the course of 2-3 months to fix it just isn't...
Read moreAs a first-time buyer, I drove three hours from San Jose to Sacramento to visit Ralph’s Jewelry, expecting a fair and professional experience. Instead, I left feeling completely taken advantage of.
I was helped by a jeweler named Adryan, who originally quoted me $5,000 for a chain and pendant. Being inexperienced but not completely unaware, I negotiated it down to $3,600—thinking I’d managed to save myself from being overcharged. Unfortunately, I later realized I was still overcharged by around $2,000 compared to what that jewelry was actually worth.
Ralph’s Jewelry also carries little to no 24k gold, which I only found out after the purchase. Most of their stock is 10k and 14k gold, which hold much less value—something I wasn’t properly informed about during the sale. As a first-time buyer, my lack of knowledge was clearly used against me, and I ended up paying far more than I should have.
What made things even worse was when I inspected the pendant more closely after the purchase. Not only did it have visible scratches on the outer layer, but there were also small chips on the pendant itself—something completely unacceptable, especially at the price I paid. No first-time customer should have to discover flaws like that after spending thousands of dollars.
In the end, what should’ve been an exciting first real gold purchase turned into a hard, expensive lesson. I drove hours just to feel like I got slapped in the face.
To anyone thinking about buying from Ralph’s Jewelry in Sacramento: be careful. Know your gold, know your prices, and don’t let them take advantage of you like...
Read moreRalph’s Jewelry is hands down the best jewelry store I’ve ever been to. The service is top-notch and the workers here really know what they’re doing. I brought in a few pieces that needed repair and they came back looking brand new — you honestly can’t even tell they were ever damaged. Their repair work is the best I’ve seen, and they take the time to explain everything so you know your jewelry is in good hands.
On top of that, the quality of their gold is unbeatable. It’s real, authentic, and they stand by what they sell. I’ve bought a couple of pieces from them and I get compliments every time I wear them. You can tell the difference in quality compared to other places.
What I appreciate most is the honesty and professionalism. They treat you with respect, give fair prices, and you leave feeling confident about your purchase or repair. If you’re looking for real gold jewelry or reliable repairs, Ralph’s Jewelers is definitely the place to go. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for quality and trustworthiness...
