Something I don't understand is that every time I go to a Chinese supermarket, I'll have to deal with nasty customer service. This cashier lady (whose name is on the receipt) did not greet us or make any eye contact when we walked to her till, she simply pointed to a piece of paper with her eyes looking down. No explanation. I didn't say anything although a bit confused. After she scanned all our items and violently threw them on the other side of the counter (some smashed on my hand), my aunt politely asked if we can use our membership card. Then all in sudden it seemed like something triggered her and she started acting all irritated and impatient, shouting at us in mandarin "why didn't you say anything before I scanned? Why didn't you make a sound when I asked you?" we were speechless... just shocked. Her voice was sharp and loud, for a moment everyone in the queue was looking at her, but she didn't seem bothered so I would assume that wasn't her first time. I said "when did you ask us?" but no answer. She completely ignored us after she's done with her yelling, silently finished her operation on the laptop and put the receipt on the counter, no eye contact or communication whatsoever. We were debating if we should talk to her manager, but we were running out of time. I decided to write this review after I got back home. So look. I might be young (this lady looked like she might be at my grandma's age), but I had worked in customer service before and I know how it is. You might be tired and frustrated after working a long day and you might have to deal with some unreasonable customers, but that is not the reason to treat people like sh*t. If you can't be friendly and cordial, or in this case at least polite, don't bother working in customer service. This is not a job for you. You are simply wasting the last few years of your life and bringing bad reputations to your workplace.

we had to make a last min run here on Christmas day. I knew 99 ranch would be opened till early evening. we had to get some produce, but my main compliment goes to the bakery. I wanted to get a fruit cake with the fruit in the middle. the lady behind the counter showed me which ones, and I choice a cake. fast forward to dessert time, I was so excited to be able to enjoy the fruit cake. this cake was oh so delicious, juicy in the middle, cake was so fluffy, frosting was amazing! not too sweet. it was absoluty heavenly. if I didn't have self control, I would have eaten the whole cake! I recommend getting a fruit cake here for any occasion. PICTURED BELOW: fruit cake before cutting. inside of cake. ( note: when I got home, I put it in the fridge for about 2 hours, depending on fridge settings dont let it get too cold or frozen. then you will need to let it sit out till soft on top and middle)

The place is great amazing sections of foods but i wrote one star because i faced a rude asain women working at cashier and the descrimation i got while she was scanning my food. She was very rude and making fun of me for some reason. I dont even know her nor do i know what i even did to make her treat me like that. I am Not asain i am half american and half mexican i am latina the way the asain women treated me made me feel like i just didnt belong inside the asain grocery store i didnt feel welcomed in after the way i was treated I am 19 year old what did i do to deserve such treatment? I felt sad and walked out of the store with tears in my eyes never felt like going back again because i dont want to be treated the same way ever it hurts alot she start laughing at me while scanning my food and slammed The money on the little counter in front of me and this just says alot about her she start talking to another asain women behind me waiting in line and not me she seems to only get along with her own people which is fine but the way she treats non asains is not! Very rude and disgusting behaior towards Others people its not my fault she chose to work there she a worker im a customer clearly she isnt the one for such a jon if you dont have a way of talking to people the right way the hate is so obvious I could see it in her eye she looked annoyed and lady? nobody is forcing her to work there she can simply leave and find another place to work . i wouldnt want to even bother going in again I felt because im not asain i shouldnt go inside it makes me upset that mabye all the other workers inside are the same ? Whats the the attitude towards non asains? And why me? Walking in all exicted because i get to try new asains foods and bought some stuff only to walk out with tears in my eyes all scared i felt attacked and this is my first discrimation i ever encountered if your not asain be careful if you go inside because this mistreatment can happen to anyone this is unacceptable but I guess this is the ugly world we...

I came in to purchase fortune cookies. I asked the cashier who sent me to the supervisor who sent me to aisle four, right side. In respect for the tradition of Lunar New Year, I asked for a proper dessert since a second cashier said they don't carry fortune cookies. Bruh, sis 😩. You're killing smalls. The employee's level of customer service is the temperature as cold as their air conditioner. I drove here from Upland, and NO ONE that worked here could or would help me even with finding an alternative, something! I did my research before I got here not to be burdensome, but I was lost. Just even asking, " Can you show me?"" wasn't acknowledged. The attitude was ," Go find it yourself." A nice helpful woman/customer told me to go to another market for fortune cookies. Best advice I got today.

Customer service and helpfulness is 1 star based on my experience today. If their level of helpfulness towards customers improved, I would give them 5 stars. I saw another lady in there who looked as lost as me. PLEASE employees and management, if we seem lost, we probably are. I want to point out that this is a trend in the customer service remarks for this store in the last two years, based on reading your reviews. Some customers say it's a racist thing and others don't quite understand the difference in cultures regardingeye contact, etc. If that's the case, I want to just say that common courtesy, acknowledgment and propriety are universal in CUSTOMER SERVICE. Maybe update your HR training manual.

On a positive note, I want to acknowledge the vast variety of the dessert aisle, the cleanliness, organization, and the gourmet style food that is already prepared at 10 AM. In addition, there's an ATM outside, a purchase counter with liquor inside, and...
