Ā Ā Ā Read moreSomething I don't understand is that every time I go to a Chinese supermarket, I'll have to deal with nasty customer service. This cashier lady (whose name is on the receipt) did not greet us or make any eye contact when we walked to her till, she simply pointed to a piece of paper with her eyes looking down. No explanation. I didn't say anything although a bit confused. After she scanned all our items and violently threw them on the other side of the counter (some smashed on my hand), my aunt politely asked if we can use our membership card. Then all in sudden it seemed like something triggered her and she started acting all irritated and impatient, shouting at us in mandarin "why didn't you say anything before I scanned? Why didn't you make a sound when I asked you?" we were speechless... just shocked. Her voice was sharp and loud, for a moment everyone in the queue was looking at her, but she didn't seem bothered so I would assume that wasn't her first time. I said "when did you ask us?" but no answer. She completely ignored us after she's done with her yelling, silently finished her operation on the laptop and put the receipt on the counter, no eye contact or communication whatsoever. We were debating if we should talk to her manager, but we were running out of time. I decided to write this review after I got back home. So look. I might be young (this lady looked like she might be at my grandma's age), but I had worked in customer service before and I know how it is. You might be tired and frustrated after working a long day and you might have to deal with some unreasonable customers, but that is not the reason to treat people like sh*t. If you can't be friendly and cordial, or in this case at least polite, don't bother working in customer service. This is not a job for you. You are simply wasting the last few years of your life and bringing bad reputations to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI came in to purchase fortune cookies. I asked the cashier who sent me to the supervisor who sent me to aisle four, right side. In respect for the tradition of Lunar New Year, I asked for a proper dessert since a second cashier said they don't carry fortune cookies. Bruh, sis š©. You're killing smalls. The employee's level of customer service is the temperature as cold as their air conditioner. I drove here from Upland, and NO ONE that worked here could or would help me even with finding an alternative, something! I did my research before I got here not to be burdensome, but I was lost. Just even asking, " Can you show me?"" wasn't acknowledged. The attitude was ," Go find it yourself." A nice helpful woman/customer told me to go to another market for fortune cookies. Best advice I got today.
Customer service and helpfulness is 1 star based on my experience today. If their level of helpfulness towards customers improved, I would give them 5 stars. I saw another lady in there who looked as lost as me. PLEASE employees and management, if we seem lost, we probably are. I want to point out that this is a trend in the customer service remarks for this store in the last two years, based on reading your reviews. Some customers say it's a racist thing and others don't quite understand the difference in cultures regardingeye contact, etc. If that's the case, I want to just say that common courtesy, acknowledgment and propriety are universal in CUSTOMER SERVICE. Maybe update your HR training manual.
On a positive note, I want to acknowledge the vast variety of the dessert aisle, the cleanliness, organization, and the gourmet style food that is already prepared at 10 AM. In addition, there's an ATM outside, a purchase counter with liquor inside, and...
