We live in Rancho Cucamonga and proud of our Route 66 vintage "Atlantic Richfield Filling Station" and museum on Foothill Blvd & Archibald Ave! It's always a joy to visit this historic and ichonic Rt 66 Roadside Attraction! My husband & I just finished our westbound Route 66 road trip adventure through 5 states from Oklahoma City, OK to Rancho Cucamonga, Ca where we live. We couldn't wait to visit our home town Route 66 vintage "Filling Station" to finish our 5 State road trip and share our Stories with the great museum docents last Saturday morning! Read moreThe ROUTE 66 IECA has done an exceptional job of saving and restoring the Cucamonga Service Station on Foothill Blvd. in Rancho Cucamonga, just West of Archibald Ave. Open to public access with select hours during the week and weekend, the volunteers will gladly regale you with many tales of local history, and anecdotes about the acquisition and restoration of the station itself. The unique architecture and vibrant color scheme is quite simply from another time. This is the place you take uncle Bob and aunt Sue from Buffalo who will go home and tell all their friends about the Route 66 gas station that was right out of the movies. If you are a local or just passing thru in your yellow '32 Deuce, the station is a must do. Then in 1925 Ancil Morris purchased the Station and he became a Richfield distributor. The Station is an historical landmark and in 2013 the Route 66 Inland Empire California group became owner,curator and caretaker for all to visit!
