January 23 update: Soup of the day is star of the show again. Very deep flavor. For the uninitiated, Cantonese soup are almost always slow simmered for hours, and are taken as a mild health tonic not too different in concept from bone broth. That's why it's different every day. Obviously hot dry days and cold wet time you'll want something different. Today is green vegetable and pork neck bones with sweet dates. Firmly recommended. An off menu item was the bamboo leaf wrapped rice dumplings. These are a meal in itself. Take home to simmer in water about 15-20 minutes to heat through, although contents are cooked. To serve unwrap and sprinkle soy sauce to taste. Recommended because it's substantially better and cheaper than what's available in ranch 99. Clay pot rice was fair to good. A layer of crispy crust formed on the pot . Braised pork belly was very good to excellent. Melt in the mouth meat and good seasoning. Sweet and sour pork and poached chicken was above average. Not much wrong but no fireworks, plenty of others offer similar fare. Shrimp chow fun in runny egg sauce fair to good. The sauce was delicious. Singaporean fried vermicelli and braised soft noodles are average. The former too enthusiastic with the curry powder and the latter a little underseasoned. Depends on what you like. Overall recommended. Even with post covid prices it's still great value. Still cheaper than sgv.

Read moreAre you kidding me? I was CRAVING some Chow Fun and ordered it with beef. I don't know if the woman who took my order was confused but it should be pretty cut and dry of what basic Beef Chow Fun is. She told me the extra container is what you pour over the noodle. I was like...what? Usually you don't have a separate container to mix in the noodles. I thought it was some new thing they had going, but I was tired and just wanted to get home. So anyway I get home and I open it up to find PLAIN noodles with NO BEEF, and no seasoning! Then there is a container of Egg Flower Soup with Shrimp. The person I wanted to share it with has a seafood allergy! What a fail! I feel like they just slapped something together and brought it out because they didn't know what beef chow fun meant. It's literally on the menu. How do they not know what's on their own menu? Unless I just got someone else's order, but she told me that I poured what's in the container over the noodles so it had to have been mine. I spent $18 on this and I feel completely cheated. Look at the photos I took of it. She wanted me to pour egg flower soup over plain noodles and said that this is...
Read moreRecently visited. This place gives ZERO service. The female owner sat us down (the second group of customers in the entire place) then forgot about us. She went back to her seat and played games on her cellphone behind the front counter (we could hear the game, sounded like slot machine). The counter was so high, from where we sat, we couldn't see the lady = the lady wouldn't be able to see us without coming to us. We waited for 10-15 minutes, finally I had my husband to go get her attention. I honestly started to think she forgot about us.
I can understand not getting service/attention if the place was busy, but there were a total of two tables of customers at the time!
We ordered. See for yourself, nothing special, seriously. It was pricey compared. I wouldn't mind paying the high price if the service was good and food was good. However, what we've received, it was horrible.
My family will not be returning. I will not recommend this place to anyone. I can get much better Chinese food for cheaper with MUCH...
