I’ve been holding off on writing a review here in hopes that the food would improve. We found this over 3 years ago and we’re excited at the fact that we finally found a vegan Thai restaurant. When we first ordered we were so happy that we didn’t really talk about the issue with the food. Once we kept ordering from here it became obvious that things would never get better.
What’s the issue with the food you ask? Well, it’s simple. It’s bland. We’ve explored the menu a little but have found items that we considered our “regular” dishes that we would get. Out of everything we’ve tried and each visit we find ourselves in disappointment looking for flavor and it’s just not there. Most of the sauces are plain and super oily or watery. Also, speaking of oil we’ve noticed in the last few times we’ve ordered here the amount of oil used in the dishes that becomes apparent once you see it left over in the takeout dish or in your own plate is gross and ends up making us feel heavy and disgusting afterwards. A lot of the dishes (especially when you order a few things on the menu at once) taste all the same. The best way I can describe flavor of most the dishes here is: sad.
This is hard to admit because if you’re vegan you know how hard it is to find a decent vegan place in the Inland Empire (and in general). And when you do find a place you don’t want to think of it anything other than great because you know that if something is not going right with the food that it will be one less vegan restaurant off the already short vegan restaurant list. We ignored it for a long time and kept ordering here in hopes things would get better but realistically, it hasn’t.
Also, if you tend to order takeout like we do, it’s very much outdated. It’s slightly frustrating to have to call in your order since they don’t have a website NOR do they have a website with a menu (the only menu I’ve found is of customers who’ve taken photos of the menu but that can be old menus). I’m dumbfounded as to why this isn’t a thing for them during this day and age (it feels like the old school days of having to call in your pizza order — those of you who had to do that know what I mean).
I think our time ordering here has come to an end, at least for now. I think both me and my husband realized this after our over $85 dollar order last night and felt the whole order was a waste of money. Perhaps, we’ll give it a try again in the future to see if things have changed but for now we’ll still be on the search for a good Thai or Asian...
Read moreThere is life after meat in Thai cuisine, and they got it going on in Rancho Cucamonga, of all unlikely strip-malls of unlikely strip-malls. Very fresh, very clean, both ingredients and establishment. The food is more adventurous than the corny Formica decor, in fact.
Hard to imagine in this day and age, but my server had selective English for days, lol. Didn't matter, service was crisp and good, just wasn't doing small talk about how the faux chicken was made. His English was better than my his native language so not ranking, but been a while since I spoken to Asian folk who genuinely did not speak English well. Caught me off guard, Rancho C done gone World on me while I was up north.
My Dad and myself were on the last leg of a trip to Santa Barbara where we had visited my Nephew, his Grandson, who is in 1st year of exciting college life. It was a nice stop at about the 2/3 point for us,
We had the mint noodles with "beef" , green beans w "pork" and the orange "chicken" soy Thai iced coffee, and fried banana with vegan green coconut ice cream. Oh and a sub standard hunk of sticky brown rice.
Every thing else was great to revelation from on high, fried orange "chicken" . My good sport dad, not even trying to be a vegetarian was totally down with it, as well as the chicken mint noodles. The pork in the green beans didn't really work, but the beans and sauce stood on alone, and you have a choice of mock meats, such as that slamming chicken. I will return.Look forward to the soups and curries.

Read moreThis place is the BEST VEGAN FOOD I have ever had and I'm not even vegan my girlfriend is. On top of that they have many healthy and many hearty foods. I've been here at least 7 times. I just went on my birthday on March 18th with my whole family of 6 and all of them loved it. None of them are vegan or vegetarian.
The service is good and fast. They're very nice. It also has a homey vibe. It's clean. It's decorated nicely. It seems like they really care about the restaurant and looks family owned to me. They also serve different deserts depending on what they've made for that time. Such as chocolate cake, vanilla ice cream.
If you want my recommendation on what to eat I LOVE the Pad Thai dinner or pad thai alone. I get the dinner special however because it is very cheap around 11 dollars. You get Pad Thai, rice, an "eggroll", your choice of "meat", and a salad.
The only "problem" I ever had was not knowing what some of the dishes were because they can't have photos for every meal which is understandable. That is a very minor thing and is just nit picking for the quality of food and service I've received here. I'm only stating it because if you're trying here for the first time you might want to google what some of the meals are or ask!
The photo uploaded is the orange chicken dinner special. The other photo I forgot the name of...
