Our first exposure to Kim Tolman’s art was a serendipitous encounter while my wife Bonnie and I were on a house hunting expedition to SoCal several years ago. We spotted one of Kim’s works; a three-panel triptych entitled Hydrophobia, and knew it had to be the centerpiece of our Long Beach living space. Kim’s use of a striking color palette and strong distinct brush strokes captured a sense of serenity and tension that we experience every time we are in its presence. Of course, Kim’s creative talent spans a broad range of disciplines including abstract expressive, fine art painting, award winning production design and commercial art. When Kim and her husband, Russ, a nationally-renowned, recording artist with a cool, Southwest vibe, invited us to a reception at their new gallery in Palm Springs, the MadKAT, we jumped at the chance. RuckBlick 30, a thirty year retrospective of Kim’s art in all its forms, was a magical evening Bonnie and I still rave about. The MadKAT was the perfect place for showcasing her creativity. Read moreWe read about the exhibit "Panorama: Landscapes, Seascapes, Escapes" at Mad.Kat gallery. Since moving back to California a few weeks ago, this was our first visit to a gallery. Easy to find off 111, this is a sweet little room with some beautiful art. We were greeted by the owner's husband.
The display is beautiful and the pieces are quite colorful.
My special favorite is the art of Maha Ibrahim.
The exhibit is up until December 14 per the poster.
My husband bought a beautiful print by a former exhibitor as well.
Easy in, parking is plentiful....
