What a joke. I went into the store to buy an item and the shelf was empty. All of them were. So I went home and found it online. Sportsman's Warehouse claims that I could pick it up in store. So I ordered it. I ended up waiting all day -- heard nothing. I called the store and the associate explained that "the receiving computer is down, it should be working in a few days". This is not the same-day service I desired. I asked if I could cancel it and the associate told me there was a cancel order button in the confirmation email. There is no cancel button in the confirmation email. I decided to call corporate, maybe they can cancel my order. First guy I get is having phone problems so I can't hear him. Our call gets disconnected (on his end). I call back, since they didn't bother to try to reconnect with me. I get a nice lady who helps me cancel the order.... within 3-5 business days. Sportsman's Warehouse is in the business of wasting your time. They don't sell products, as you can't buy them. I consider this a lesson. Don't do business at Sportsman's Warehouse.
Edit: It gets worse. They didn’t cancel it at all. Thanks for doing zero of what you said you’d do Sportsman’s Warehouse.
Edit 2: They responded to this review asking me to call them. So I did. I figured they wanted to know what happened and try to convince me to change my review. That's not at all the experience I got. Nobody knew what I was talking about. After 45 more minutes of looking up order numbers and asking me details about what happened. "We do not have a direct contact for the person you're trying to reach". Still, even after another chance -- completely useless. They even tried to claim that the reply to this review was a fraud or a scam. I guess none of them are tech savvy enough to understand that it's extremely unlikely. Furthermore, if it were a scam, why would the scammer give me the corporate phone number to call? That's not to mention the MONTH it took them to...
Read moreWasn't happy with my experience here. I had come in with a relative to inquire about the process of purchasing a handgun. (We live in an area that is a bit more rural and don't have any real self-protection in case of emergencies).
We were directed to the back counter to begin the process of completing the test/paperwork required.
Upon getting there we took a number and stood near the counter and waited as there were 3 other customers already being helped. The top-heavy store associate with the goatee and ball-cap proceeded to then draw out the purchasing process with the customer for as long as possible (they were only buying 4 boxes of ammunition which I doubt takes over 20 mins).
The man then looked at me and then back to the customer and said aloud: "Hopefully you are my last customer for today”. Seems like they don’t really enjoy working here and that’s very unfortunate.
Keep in mind we had been standing there for 30 mins at this point with no one acknowledging us or letting us know that they would get to us shortly.
This store associate also loudly claimed that everyone at this store is ex-law enforcement/military.
I very much doubt anyone in this establishment could defend themselves from even a blind and deaf chihuahua let alone be a officer of the law and or be enlisted in the US military.
All we wanted was some help getting a simple handgun for emergencies to keep ourselves safe.
Thank you sir making us feel nonexistent and for ensuring that I will never be returning to this business. I will also be sure to tell others to avoid this emotionally deprived...
Read moreWent in to take my handgun safety test in the sporting goods department. I was almost shot by one of the employees behind the counter. An employee was testing the pull of a compound bow with a loaded arrow and aimed it right at me. I moved and told him to aim it somewhere else and he ignored me and again aimed the loaded weapon at me directly while it was drawn. I moved again and demanded to speak with the store manager. The too stupid to live employee rolled his eyes and went to get his department manager. After calling every name in the book another moron who was behind the counter tried to intervene and I asked him if he was the manager. He said he didn't even work there. I told him I was not interested in talking to him and that he should mind his own business. I guess he was a customer who was using the archery lane at the time. Probably the reason that the dumb employee was not aiming the right way. Next comes the manager who claimed that the employee must have had the bow in safety mode. I told her that I did not know anything about archery except that when a loaded arrow is pointed at me I am to duck down. I also told her that she should fire the guy in the spot. She said she was sorry but all she could do was to remind him not to aim at customers any more. Later I called back asking if I could buy a compound bow with a safety on it. The same manager said they don't have such a model. Now I am going to find the general manager of the store and make sure the...
