Well i am very disappointed. La Michoacana's is new in town and I was stoked to check the place out mainly because i love ice cream and the Ice cream parlor looked beyond cool it grabs your attention both from the street driving by and from across the parking lot with its bright colors and cool lights. it looked like a very fun place to get some ice cream my first impressions didn't disappoint when i walked in the door i was overwhelmed by all the choices although the first problem for me was that all the menus are in spanish only which for me was a problem since i don't speak spanish but that was okay because everything had big bright pictures the one thing that was missing was the prices and let me tell you after my experience tonight that proved to be a huge issue. so there was so many choices and i had never really heard of any of them so i chose the picture on the wall that caught my attention the most from the moment i walked in and it was the strawberry's with creme "fresas con crema" which ended up being nothing more than a extremely overpriced cup of sliced strawberry's in some yogurt crème sauce. and when i say EXTREMELY OVERPRICED i mean it. my girlfriend got the small i got the regular and our total was $17.18 had i of known the price beforehand i never would have ordered it especially because it was literally a cup of sweet sliced strawberry's that weren't even ripe! i am extremely disappointed when i got in the car i realized how much i had just been charged and thought there must be a mistake so i called and nope that was the price the reg. was $9 something and the small was $7 something. what a rip off i didn't even finish half of the half green strawberry's. guess its my fault i better learn spanish if i wasnt to order from that...
Read moreTo the people that keep saying There is no menú, there in fact is one, just right next to where you order. Yes it's mostly in Spanish but come one there is pictures. They do lack prices but just ask the person who is behind the counter before ordering. Communication is KEY. Learn to use your words. Besides it isn't the first place that doesn't have prices on their menú, I've seen so many American restaurants not have prices, but all I do is ask how much for items I want and guess what? They tell me the price. Amazing right? To the people that complain about its so simply made. Isn't everything simply made we're just lazy to do it ourselves, there for we pay people to do it for us? These are just things to keep in mind before you go and complain about a cup full of fresas con crema, next time don't go and order the simplest thing on the menú due to pictures. You want more complex ask for something more complex like a mangonada or Banana split "aka a banana split in have filled with ice cream and your favorite toppings."
Anyway place is good, I did order the fresas con crema and I was with a pretty larger group. Kiddos behind counter where pretty patient considering we had 6 kids (7-15) being un decisive plus 5 adults the same way lol. I would definitely go back and order something different next time like tostilocos. Oh yeah our total wasn't crazy I believe it was around $70 so that's pretty good for 11 people. We had 1 L nieve flotante 1 S fresas con crema 1 mangonada 1 banana split 2 nieves en vaso 2 scoops each 2 vasos de elote 2 paletas de agua 1...
Read moreVisited twice over the past weekend. First time we got a mangoneada, fresas con crema, and a micheagua. Loved the fresas con crema and the agua. The mangoneada wasn't my favorite. Went back up to the counter to ask for extra spoons twice because I was ignored the first time so I thought maybe she didn't hear me because of my mask and so I said "excuse me" while a customer was at the counter paying and she was off to the side, which I saw as an opportunity to ask. She rudely said she was helping someone after I asked her the second time and gave them to me even though the customer wasn't interacting with the staff member and is the main reason why I asked her. I asked her twice because she was off to the side right in front of the spoons but still decided to ignore my first request.
Customer service does give you a good or bad reputation so being kind goes a long way. Ignoring customers isn't the way to go, the least you can do for a paying customer is acknowledge them if you heard them.
Second day we went we had no issues at all AND it was busier than the first time we went. Although the line was long, they did help us pretty quickly which is a plus so don't let that turn you away. The lady that helped us was super nice. We got an agua fresca de fresa, fresas con crema (our favorite again), chocobanana which was also good, and paletas which we haven't tried yet.
Overall, a great place for...
