To get the best views of the ocean, drive from North to South. That way you will be able to look over to the Pacific from your vehicle. I caught a few whales in the distance on my drive. Beautiful and scenic. Iconic!

There is no wait to drive this beautiful highway. In my estimate it is one of the most beautiful highways in the world. I would recommend taking your time and no need to drive it from start to finish just whatever section works for you and at whatever time works for you. I have driven it multiple times and recommend weekdays as it gets quite crowded. It is my hope that it will always be here and in good condition.
