Let me tell you about a little gem in Redondo Beach called Wildflower Cafe. It's become a favorite for our family's breakfast/brunch, and it's not just the delicious food that keeps us coming back – though that's a big part of it!
From the moment you step inside (or even as you're leaving!), the customer service at Wildflower Cafe is truly outstanding. And I mean every single staff member. They all greet you with a genuine warmth that makes you feel instantly welcome. It's the kind of friendly atmosphere that just brightens your day.
The inside is cozy, and yes, it can get a little snug, which just adds to its charm in a way. But thankfully, they have a lovely patio, and since the pandemic, they've expanded their outdoor seating even more, giving you plenty of options to soak up the Redondo Beach sunshine.
Our family are big fans of their breakfast/brunch, and we've even brought friends along who've raved about it too.
For me, I'm partial to the California Omelet – packed with grilled chicken and a medley of fresh veggies, all topped with melty Swiss cheese. But I also can't resist "The Wildflower Two." Two eggs any style, your choice of meat (their turkey bacon is surprisingly good!), and while the toast is nice, swapping it for their fluffy pancakes is a must-do in my book. Their Breakfast Burrito, Eggs Benedict, and Breakfast Sandwich are also solid choices I've enjoyed.
My wife is a big fan of their Lox Platter. The quality of the smoked salmon is excellent, and she loves the fresh red onions, tomatoes, and cucumbers, all paired with her choice of bagel and creamy cream cheese.
Now, for our 7-year-old pancake connoisseur! Wildflower Cafe has an incredible pancake selection. Whether it's classic buttermilk, rich chocolate chip, nutty banana walnut, or bursting with blueberries or strawberries, there's a pancake for every mood. But if you can't decide? Go for the Wildflower Stack – a delightful combination of bananas, walnuts, blueberries, and strawberries. They also have a fantastic kids' menu, and the "Big Breakfast" (one egg, one piece of meat, and a pancake or French toast) is always a hit with our son.
While their lunch menu looks tempting, we're definitely in the breakfast/brunch camp.
Parking can be a little tricky, but don't get discouraged! If you head up Sapphire Street, you'll usually find street parking either on that block or just around the corner on South Gertruda Avenue. It's worth circling around for a spot.
Wildflower Cafe isn't just a place to eat; it's a warm, welcoming spot with delicious food and service that truly makes you feel like a regular. It's a 5-star experience through...

Wait: Went on a Sunday at noon and had about a 10-minute wait altogether. It was raining so they had to close off the outdoor patio making the seating arrangement smaller than usual. They were cool about it and said if I wanted to wait in my car, they would just call my cell when our table was ready.
Size: Even with outdoor seating, the place is small... think a Parisian café with room for under 20 people... where the tables are smooshed together. I've heard it's worse early in the morning for breakfast and a true brunch, so go early early early or wait until the afternoon so you aren't waiting forever.
Parking: There are about three spaces in the lot. I parked a little ways up the hill... the walk was refreshing.
Food: READ IF YOU THINK YOU WANT THE LOX PLATTER: In regards to food: this place is a win. I loved my salmon/lox platter. Two bagels, cream cheese, and a plate of toppings that included tomatoes, onions and cucumbers. The cucumbers made it insanely amazing... I forgot to ask for capers, so here is my reminder to you lox lovers - ask for yo' capers! The dish was incredible and I was super full. If you're at the café right now reading my review and are on the fence about this dish: stop reading, call your server over and order this now. NOW.
There were so many things on the menu, I just have to come back and try some other stuff. Burgers, salads, omelettes, pancakes... one-stop shop for all things tasty. Breakfast sandwich and French toast were also nummalicious and very generous in their portions. I'm coming back, Wildflower Café!!! Get that lox platter ready...
