Stay Away! The room smelled of mold and mildew immediately upon walking in. When confronting the staff about the mold (which led to headaches, congestion and nausea), the fleas (showing him the bites on ankles and knees), and a hypodermic needle found in the room, the live-on-property staff claimed "it wasn't their needle" and refused to offer any solutions and did not even offer to remove the needle! They then lied about the prices of the room and tried to charge us MORE per night to continue our stay - while also telling us the 1 room without mold was already taken. Throughout this entire stay, the staff was rude and inconsiderate, making hand gestures instead of using common courtesy and professionalism. They claimed to have a rule of "No Guests Allowed" - which is insane for a hotel and they made us both show ID, not just the person who rented the room. There is NO maid service on staff (yet they charge more than enough to cover a professional maid service so there's no reason not to hire any)! Additionally, there were stains everywhere, especially on the door, the balcony curtain and the mirror. The table inside the room also had something sticky and gross on the underside. The bathroom is incredibly tiny with nowhere to hang your towel and the shower-head is very weak and small. The water in the shower tub doesn't fully drain, so there is always a small little puddle in there as well. Dogs were barking at night and allowed to run around with no leashes (even though they falsely advertise not allowing dogs on the property). The only vending machine on the property is for show - it doesn't work (great metaphor for the hotel in general, all show with no substance). This hotel does NOT seem to meet Health Department Standards and is...
Read moreLike the room but had a horrible experience. Came here for a weekend staycation. Great proximity to the beach which is why I chose to stay there. While riding my bike back from the beach the Redondo beach police began to follow me. When I turned into the moonlite inn the police slammed on their brakes and that's when I noticed they were actually covertly pursuing me. I went to my room and thought it was over until I saw the officers talking to the manager and pointing to my room. I watched baffled for close to 20 minutes as the police waited for backup and assembled to come to my room. They knocked and posed as housekeeping and didn't reply when I asked why they were there. When I opened the door and came out there was at least 4 officers waiting to handcuff me and search my room. Turns out I had a warrant from 4 years ago which they found out once the manager gave them my name. They took me to jail for the warrant and took a bunch of random things out of my room because they felt like maybe I stole them but they didn't charge me for stealing or possession of anything stolen. They kicked my girlfriend out even though the room was paid for which was the cherry on top. Im no saint and wouldn't try to defend myself if I was wrong but this experience adds to the many that myself and people like me have been through that strengthens our dislike of law enforcement and provides a false narrative to witnesses who believe that if they see police investigating or arresting someone then that person must have done something wrong (i.e....

Office person I dealt with was a nasty toothless rude man. Staff really are worthless. Room 219 was in front on corner of building overlooking a very very noisy Pacific Coast Highway. The traffic noise was unbearable. The room rug was dirty, spotted with burn marks. The TV did not work although they touted satellite TV with multiple channels but there were only seven channels and only one worked for me. Staff did nothing to fix it.
There were dark greasy smudges/fingerprints on walls, entry door, and bathroom door. Furniture is WAY out dated, blonde, ugly, with big nicks and burn spots. They must have picked it up off the street. Mini fridge is good size but very old and dirty. The pedestal it sits on has mold. The room smells of dank mold.
There is bubbling and paint peeling off the wall behind door, CLEARLY water leaking issues. Wires are hanging loosely out wall. Unknown questionable dried spots on the walls. Paint on walls is old sticky and outdated. The two chairs were so dirty, spotted and filthy I wouldn't sit in them. It is clear to me that the owners, employees of this property have no pride or care about this place....nor do they value customers. Their contempt of customers is evident in how the property is cared for. Even $75 a night they could do a better job. If you have VERY LOW expectations for a motel then by all means come to the Moonlite Inn. My advice/opinion is stay as far away as you...
