They call Reno the Mississippi of the west for a reason. I travel thru about 5 airports a week throughout the US. This is the only TSA Precheck, at that, that makes a huge deal out of having 3 ounce bottles that are more than āwhat TSA allows.ā I have about 5 years traveling for work & itās only at this airport that this has occurred. Now what really did it was a specific TSA agent who is white & quite elderly (I should have gotten her name but it occurred 6/30 at around 9:00am). She was at the computer doing the screening & then got off just to check my bag (even though I saw a younger gentleman that was checking the bags). She began to immediately take all my products out angrily to where my personal items began to fall to the ground. Airports are filthy & this woman was just throwing my things around. I couldnāt believe it. At that point I didnāt care about āhaving too many 3 oz. bottlesā but rather about how she just carelessly threw everything around to where things were falling to the ground. It was indecent, rude & totally unnecessary. If she was courteous or simply direct & had given me my options (as far as having to get rid of stuff), the process would have been quicker & I wouldnāt have been offended. She didnāt have to proceed in taking EVERYTHING out of my suitcase, as if I was trying to hide something? I have TSA Precheck for a reason, I travel a lot. I hate this airport because itās not the first time this has occurred but at least the other TSA agents were courteous about it. This woman is bitter. The manager got involved & she did what the lady should have done, direct & quick. The older woman angrily threw my things around, took her time doing it & barely even spoke to me. She actually only began to talk to me once I asked her to not throw my things to the ground. Thatās when she looked up and glared her teeth at me before responding. Crazy, people like this shouldnāt even be in the workforce. I needed to get though as quickly as possible, I will cooperate in throwing things away. My problem was with her throwing my things to the ground and being so angry about it. I have to mention the only rude and disrespectful TSA people at this airport were old white people, hence my comment about Reno being the Mississippi...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI would give zero stars if possible. At 6am only 2 ID checkers and 2 luggage scanners open. Medically necessary food (yogurt-special diet) scanned turned up a false positive. I was subjected to intimidation and harassment. All of my luggage and carry on were unpacked and searched. I was subjected to a full body pat down including my crotch and breasts. I was visibly upset and expressed feeling violated and harassed. The more I expressed feeling violated and harassed, the more I was subjected to violation and harassment. They intensified the intimidation. I was told my yogurt would be opened and sampled at which time I asked them to throw it out. I wasn't going to eat it after them sticking their hands in it. I was verbally mocked by a female agent. When I asked for names and badge numbers I was laughed at. Upon leaving I made a comment to myself and a big African American guy came out of the tower behind and said "what did you say"? I told him I wasn't talking to him and he said "you were talking about all of us" as he followed me to the escalator. Apparently, in Nevada, a person is subject to harassment and intimidation if you show displeasure with being violated. A supervisor came over and told me I should have gotten to the airport sooner then started gaslighting me and telling me there wasn't a line when there was still a line. I waited in line 20 minutes before getting to the ID checker. Wow! What a power trip these people are on. NO ACCOUNTABILITY. Apparently they don't realize that they work for the taxpayers and we pay their salary and we deserve to be treated with dignity and respect. This was totally unnecessary and extreme. After all of that, I was set free to go to my gate. I have reported this to the agency. Maybe these are some of the federal employees who will be cut or downsized. What...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHad a flight out of Reno on a Sat night at 11:50pm. We showed up at the airport at 9pm, earlier than we wanted to but after a day of skiing and driving we were tired. The airport was empty, like a ghost town and our flight was the last flight for the night. Went to the Jet Blue kiosk to get a boarding pass and a luggage label. The machine printed out the boarding pass but not luggage label which defeats the purpose of a self service kiosk. There was no one at the counter, only a note with a sign that the counter will be open at 9:30pm. When the counter agents finally came there was pretty big line of passengers and the agents were SO slow. I really don't understand why everyone had to stand in line even tho we were checked in, had boarding passes and just needed to drop off the bags. Seems very inefficient. After finally dropping off the bag we were off the security check which there was only 1 line open and it moved at a snail pace. Luckily we were at the front of the line since we got to the airport earlier. Eventually after security check we were on our way. The inside of the airport was very depressing with everything closed. Not even a small deli to grab a snack or a drink. I feel like if there is a flight leaving there should be something open, but nope. Also all the slot machines were out of order. So no food and no entertainment, just a long period of sitting, waiting to board in a depressing,...
