Where to begin....First of all the one star reviews are correct. I've been coming here for about 5 years. It's never been stellar, but in the Reno Airport, there are not many options. This place has been going downhill for the last 2 years, at least. I do not write many reviews, but what happened today made me have to do this. The big problem with this place is the service, (but physically it's going downhill as well....just look at the condition of the booths.) Last year when we came here, the line to get in was huge....tables open everywhere and not a hint of acknowledgement from any person working there to the people standing in line. Servers would walk by the line and not say anything, while other servers would be yucking it up with other employees. Service and management believe they are beyond reproach. I could go on and on. Today, Sunday November 26, 2023 we decided to give it one more chance. We showed up in the afternoon asking to be seated within tv viewing focus to see a Sunday game. A young man came up to us in the waiting line. I asked if he could seat us close to a tv to see the game. He gave me a, "well let me see what I can do". We followed him to the table. Please keep in mind the place was pretty much empty. The table he tried to seat us was not ideal to see the game. However, there were many other tables that were open and ideal to see the game. I asked him if we could have one of the other tables....he said no, "I have a seating chart that I have to go by".... This answer is unacceptable and annoying. I tried to get more information from him on why we can't move and he turned walked away and ignored me. Who in the world trains a person to simply ignore a customer when they are asking a question? Meanwhile, the older bartender that's been there for years gave me a dirty look. You all know that guy from the other reviews. This place has become a complete disaster and I would be embarrassed to have this place in my city airport, especially if it's considered the cornerstone restaurant in the terminal. It starts at ownership and then trickles down to management. There's a real cancer here, and if the city of Reno and the airport don't take it seriously, it will snowball into a bigger problem for the city. What a mess of a place, and shame on Reno if it doesn't address...
Read moreMy husband and stood for 18 minutes at the hostess stand only to be completely ignored by several staff members. One waitress in particular passed by several times without even acknowledging us. Finally a lady behind the bar said we could sit down at a table and she pointed us in the direction towards the end of the bar. A waitress named Lacy who was delivering water to a table next to where we were told we could sit down, literally yelled at us that we could not sit there and we needed to return to the hostess stand until she could seat us. I told her that we were told that we could take the table but the waitress said no, and continued to say she was very busy and we must return to the hostess stand until she could seat us and that there are a lot of people who were seated before us and she needed to deal with them first. We returned to the hostess stand and stood there for an additional 10 minutes or so, other patrons were now behind us waiting as well and still, we all were ignored. Finally she came over and said if we wanted to sit down somewhere we could, however, she would not be able to take our order because she was just too busy. We could order thru the QR CODE if we wanted . That would have been fine; if she told us that from the start. Everything would have been fine if we were not completely ignored … but the worst part of this entire experience was that she literally yelled at us in front of all the patrons that were seated inside the restaurant. My husband went to the manager who offered no help, only excuses that they were very busy. We left . That manager came out after us and tried to explain that he had a staff member on break and other employees called out. As I am sympathetic to stress and understaffed establishments, I still know that in hospitality we should be acknowledged and be asked to be patient. And we would understand. This was absolutely the rudest staff member I have ever encountered. I gave this with one star because it won’t let me post with no star rating. The food looked great. So disappointed that this experience was so bad, we couldn’t even give...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Timber Ridge, located in the C concourse just past the Security Checkpoint at Reno International Airport. The restaurant's convenient location makes it a great option for travelers looking for a delicious breakfast before their flight.
The staff at Timber Ridge was friendly and accommodating. However, it was noticeable that the waitress also acted as the hostess, which sometimes caused a delay in service as she had to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Despite this, she remained pleasant and attentive to the guests' needs.
One thing that stood out to me was the impeccable food presentation. I decided to try the "All American" breakfast, which consisted of two sausages or bacon, two eggs, two small pancakes, and tater tot hash browns. The tater tot hash browns were a unique twist that I had not seen before, and they were surprisingly crispy and well seasoned. The pancakes, although slightly smaller than expected, were delicious and complemented the other components of the dish perfectly. The sausage, unfortunately, was not hot when it arrived, but it was still cooked well. The eggs, on the other hand, were simply amazing.
In terms of beverages, the coffee at Timber Ridge is served piping hot, so caution is advised. However, it was not overly strong, which may be a plus for those who prefer a milder flavor.
Overall, I highly recommend stopping by Timber Ridge for breakfast if you find yourself at Reno International Airport. They serve breakfast from 5am until 10am, making it a convenient option for early morning travelers. The food is cooked to perfection, and the unique tater tot hash browns are a must-try. Despite some minor hiccups in service, the friendly staff and enjoyable dining experience make Timber Ridge a...
