This is a new park in my neighborhood. Location is excellent it is located behind the library. Parking is a large round about. which is parallel lined parking. It is confusing since parking is on the outsider side of the roundable and the street looks like a one way street counter clock wise direction. it is not possible for two cars to drive in opposite directions. Similar to what you find in Seattle QueenAnne area. Street fits only one car at st time. it would work well if they had signs of one direction to avoid issues during peak hours. Structures: the two main rope structures is the largest i have seen in surround areas. The smaller structure the tallest part has a safety guard suitable for younger kids under 6. The larger structure as a small slide and is suitable for older kids ages 7 and up. my youngest did climb up to the top of the larger structure. but i was very nervous since there was no safety guard. even older kids can slip and fall. while the high part is the most exciting part of the structure in windy days it is most dangerous. i order some kind of guard to prevent accidents. the toddler play set is typical. the swings are only for toddlers there isn't typical swings which is unfortunate. finally the see saw looked great but is poor design we kids can't use it no matter how much we try to adjust the weights in the center to help balance the see saw, there are plenty of smaller less fancy see saws that works so much better perhaps the person who designed it didn't actually have kids test it to make sure it is practical? the flooring of this playground is excellent it is very bouncy and thick cushion comparing to other parks, The bathroom is very close to the playground and is very clean. the bench seating surrounding the park. and faces the playground great for parents to keep eye on the kids. the walking path is a large circle good for walking for biking. i still highly...
Read moreNice park but a bit weird construction design.. since the park is in high hills and there no tall trees around this park, think there is no barrier on this park. Very hot on hot day, very windy on cold days. Seating tables are made with shiny metal and it is super shiny that it will bother your eyes while you are sitting on it on a sunny day while watching your kids. Mist feature is a bit weird too. Since there is no spray park in Renton, they’d better put some more money if they’re gonna add some water feature on the park. To me, it is just a bit weird. There is no guideline or explanation on that mist, so I thought it was some emergency situation when I first saw it. In general, Renton tried to add luxury vive in highlands area but kinda became mediocre in my opinion. However not the worst case scenario either, still...
Read moreMy daughter lost her doll here this morning - and through the kind actions of the City of Renton Parks and Rec folks, it was returned to her from their lost and found! A big thanks from this family for P & R's thoughtful and kind efforts. :)
Ten stars for how hard the city works to keep this park beautiful.
There are a lot of nice families who frequent this park, as we discovered this morning. ♡
Great bathrooms - the climbing structure is SO interesting; we've had many trips here and are not tired of it yet. There's a smaller structure that keeps my 3 year old entertained. Bucket swings for the littles. There's a library branch right beside the park and we partook of their 10am outdoor story time this morning. We do find this park pretty quiet in the morning, so it's a good time to...
