This Turkish cafe is located in the old KFC spot next to Safeway on Sunset Blvd. The interior is very cute and inviting, and the young man behind the counter was very nice. He was welcoming and gave off a genuine nice vibe. I got a piece of chocolate cake, baklava, olive and cheese pastry, beef borek, and Nutella pastry. I would definitely go back for the beef borek, baklava, and olive and cheese pastry. The borek was surprisingly moist, despite the dry exterior esthetics. This filo dough delight had a wonderful crisp outside and a tender and flavorful inside. It was ornately wrapped into a serpentine shape and filled with ground beef and onions. The dough had a nice separation of layers when you bite into it and had a slight elasticity to it that gave the pastry a bonus texture. Delicious! What I enjoyed about the baklava is that it wasn't too sweet. The pistachios were evenly grounded to a perfect size where it complemented the crisp and tender filo dough. There were no rogue big pieces of nut to create an off mouth feel. As for the olive pastry, it was more of a bread. It was surprisingly pillowy. It had nice elasticity and the olives were not overpowering. I'm not a fan of olives, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. I will go back again and try their other offerings. I overheard someone say they really enjoyed their Turkish Delights, especially the pomegranate. They have a variety of beautiful cake slices and cheese cake to choose from. My only suggestion is for them to put wax paper or cellophane on the edges of the sliced cakes to help keep the sponge moist for longer. I will definitely bring my friends next time so I can try more things! All the best wishes to a long and...

The food? Incredible. You can taste the quality in every dish, from the perfectly spiced meats to the flaky, golden pastries. Everything is cooked with care and served piping hot. It’s clear this is more than just a restaurant; it’s a passion project, and that love comes through on every plate.

Read moreNot a big fan. This place just seems more like an Instagram photo booth than a cozy café. Cute decor, but overly so in that it makes for a sterile, boring environment. The “tiramisu” was completely devoid of coffee flavor or ladyfingers, and was more akin to a chocolate cake. The first time I went here, an employee was confused about what my order was, I didn’t correct them to be nice, and then another employee made it out to be that I was confused. It made an un-winnable interaction for me. All in all, a café is definitely the most disappointing thing that could have been put in this building, and it appears to be more of a hangout spot for the owners and friends than anything. If I want something Turkish, I’m going to Sabah down the road. If I want a coffee or something sweet, I’m going to Redondo across the street. This place is redundant and somewhat...
