While I was visiting my son abd his fiancé in Renton WA my son took me to the Grocery Outlet to shop for gift items for his fiance. Since we were on a time frame I did not buy groceries instead I picked up some halloween decorations as well as housewares items. If I had a Grocery Outlet where I live Im sure it would be my favorite grocery store. The items I bought were at a low price compared to other large chain stores. I also enjoyed the atmosphere inside the Grocery Outlet store in Renton WA. It was well lit inside and had numerous decorations as well as large museum like pieces. Curiosity got the best of me and I did some research through Google and read about The Grocery Outlet on the web page in which is well designed. Grocery Oulet are independently owned and operated and offers its customers quality at good prices. The Grocery Outlet has 400 stores across the nation and also buys directly from manufactures so as to keep prices low on seasonal items and decor. I was pleased with the coustomer service I recieved from the Renton WA Outlet. When asking for directions on where to find an item I was directed to the exact spot. The cashier was fast friendly and knowledgeable. The parking lot was clean plenty of space is provided as well as...
Read moreHaving the cashier tell you she is sick AFTER accepting paying for all the food they just handled is completely unacceptable. Having both cashiers sick and on the register at the same time is also unacceptable. Having the manager just say oh... So sorry... They were out for two days is the icing on the cake. People are still contagious after two days with many illnesses. Sick people shouldn't be working. That's how you spread disease.
But on the upside, someone got free food as I was not interested in eating food just handled by someone who just admitted that they are actively sick.
Good prices don't do you any good if you don't get to take the items you purchased for fear of getting sick. Though they probably just picked the money, and put the contaminated items back on the shelf for some other person to buy a second time.
Pity. I used to like shopping here, but I won't be back anytime in the foreseeable future with these kinds of sick policies in place. I value my health more than the groceries I left, or the potential savings I might get.
Honestly I'm not angry, I'm just very very...
Read moreThis store has great deals but stock comes in and out so not always the same selections. Some of their items are lower priced than big name grocers and some are similar in price. The biggest negative to this location is that they allow people to bring their dogs (non service) into the store. IT IS ILLEGAL IN WA STATE TO ALLOW NON SERVICE ANIMALS IN STORES THAT SELL FOOD. The staff is not trained to answer questions when I spoke up about it. Also against WA state laws. They said if I would like to take it up with the owner, they are usually there in the mornings. It should be posted when entering that non service animals are not allowed. Come on people, leave your dogs at home if grocery shopping. To the owners who think we don't have a right to a safe, uncontaminated grocery store, YOU ARE WRONG! Maybe the owners should look into our states laws about bringing pets in their store. Pretty...
