I mean seriously, 1 missing and 1 dead in same week but the school just repeating no threading without any details? What is wrong with your people? I hope indeed is was administrators not the random students being "decreased" cause I hate this place as an undergraduate CS student.

Update: now it is two deaths

—————————————————————

we got computer science classes do not allow computer usage and compile in brain, math classes do not allow calculator usage and calculate trigonometry on paper, literature class do not allow quotations refereeing and start your essay from zero... at least we still get charges everywhere and unfriendly campus staffs🥰.

(If you are a visitor, then this is a good place to visit overall, but if you are a pre-student here, I will just warn you get prepare for handling every single thing yourself. No one will help you out from academical or living crisis based on my two years experience here, at least in CS major.)

Update : 01-30-23:

Extreme weather, everything froze, but students still have to drive on ice to attend to class. Minus one star for school admins' brains froze in extreme temp

03/18/23: "Grades will not be released until you complete online education modules on everfi.com. Check your to-do list for login instructions. Instructions can also be found at utdallas.edu/studentwellness. Contact studentwellness@utdallas.edu with any questions."

Well, I assume you know you are the Big-O of depression and mental health issues of students here.

03/19/23

The instructor of the Computer Architecture (CS 2340) believes he is Linus Torvalds but everyone knows he is just a jester. IP checking to ensure student attendant to class balabala... If student really don't want to, they will just drop the class.

03/23/23 "and he said *After looking at the question more carefully, I think that you are correct. There were typos in the question.

The line add $s1, [b], $zero

should be: add $s2, [b], $zero

The line L0: addi $s1, $zero, [d]

should be L0: addi $s2, $zero, [d]

Thanks for pointing it out. but he said he won't give points back for people who got that question wrong cuz of his typo"

06/22/23 Someone look up geeks for geeks in class is "teaching" us Linux yeah…

08/18/23 "Waitlisting for 2023 Fall has been closed. You will be removed from the waitlist for the following course(s):

Subject Course # Section Room Meeting Days Start Time End Time CS 4348 004 ECSS 2.305 MW 2:30 PM 3:45 PM

If you need assistance with your class schedule, please contact your advisor."

this place never have enough seats for all

08/19/23 Why don't the school just purchase some statues and place them in the offices? At least those are one-time fee and students wont waste time expect them to work also.

08/24/23 The school is not trying to solve the problem of parking. Not even 1000 dollars violent permit can find a lot in noon. Instead, they decided to increase the rate of paid by hour parking. Guess what, fk u

08/29/23 "software designs need to be ethical…" yeah your parking lots changes must be the result of some type of democratic polling right? Except the polls was between school admins only.

Also was the ac off after 4pm or what? Why was my 6pm class hot as hell. We were just like buns getting steamed in the classroom

10/28/23 Am I taking a commercial business course or cs course?

01/31/24 The machine learning which utd was so proud of is so garbage or it was me getting a garbage prof?

02/29/24 We have a student missing for 4days and finally the school send an email announcing that. Is my "asia info network" is faster than this school's administrators Internet?

Also another student found dead in park lot U this week

06/17/24 Parking building elevator near ecss smells like someone peed in it

08/17/24 Graduate today, garbage...

Honestly if you had to pay for college don't chose UTD. If you get a full ride then it is bearable knowing that you don't have to pay for this lowtier school. A couple of things stand out if you are planning on making a decision.

UTD gives out scholarships to a bunch of foreign students. In fact I think UTD has the most foreign students when compared to other public texas schools. Foreign students aren't really a problem when integrated with the university but UTD makes a big deal about diversity and how diverse they are when in reality it is the opposite. All the foreign student tend to congregate into their own cultures and societies. Indians hang out with Indians, Chinese with Chinese, etc. etc. In fact this is so prevalent that the clubs garnered for these ethnicity are swollen in size with around 500 in each whether it is the Vietnamese Student Association or the Chinese or etc. You could try to join one of these programs but you will be treated as an outsider, in fact good luck feeling welcome with any ethnicity if you are white. All the activities, all the clubs, all the school sponsored "spirit" has some form of ethnicity attached to it and with around more than 50% of the school being from Asia they tend to congregate and leave anyone else out. If you're from the Asian continent you're in luck, you'll fit right in. Except if you're a non-muslim arab. Good luck trying to join the MSA or fitting in then.

Regardless of social life, sexual life is even worse. Good luck finding someone attractive, the girls that were mildly attractive before UTD get inflated in attractiveness due to the rarity of beauty on this campus.

It's expensive for nothing. UTD know's it's so lowtier in the system that it tries everything to get up to the UT system of quality. Harder classes, more expensive tuition, more expensive everything with lesser quality. The only reason you should go to this school is if you can't afford good colleges and UTD will pay your tuition for you. Honestly you're better off with a community college degree because they equal to the quality UTD brings...

I see a lot of reviews saying this school has a beautiful campus and amazing reputation, which it does. Also, the professors are amazing and the students are very bright. However, the administration and politics within this university is abysmal.

Little to no information was given regarding registration for after being accepted into the university for graduate students. When I called and emailed the school, I was transferred numerous times to numerous departments because nobody knew how to answer my question or who could answer it. There seems to be little to no communication between departments.

Parking doesn’t exist between 10am-3pm. With how much the cost of Parking, housing, and tuition has increased over the years, I expected improvements in the facilities and organization within this university. I have seen little to no change.

Student life is also quite mundane. The university clearly does not strive to encourage an active and engaged student body. The university’s events such as weeks of welcome and guest speakers pale in comparison to every other university in Texas. This includes universities such as UT San Antonio and Texas State, which are significantly cheaper and smaller. Considering UTD’s notoriety for having the 4th most unhappy student body among universities in the country, I’m surprised the administration can turn a blind eye to student engagement.

I feel like I’m just a dollar sign to this university after 4 years as an undergrad and 1 year as a masters student. I would not encourage anyone...
