I am a wedding officiant. I visit quite a few wedding venues. I had the privilege of marrying a delightful couple at Monumental Church on New Year's Eve--one of the best venues I have had the privilege of visiting. The architecture is stunning and the inside of the church is a blank canvas. The wedding took place at 6:30 in the evening. Monumental has limited lighting, so the couple hired a lighting company to provide just enough lighting to give the place a warm, spiritual ambiance. The couple's florist embedded little battery operated votives in the flower arrangements. Lovely. Lynne, the wedding coordinator, was absolutely a gem to work with. Fortunately, Historic Richmond, who owns the property, is looking for an adaptive reuse for the space. Right now it is primarily a wedding venue.
