I'll start by saying I had my dogs so I only saw the porch, but I can see a stand-alone bar w taps (unmanned) so when busy, I'm sure I'd still get the same stellar service. Great vibe downtown, and btw, I totally did not expect to find a patio downtown that's dog friendly. 😀 Way to a neighborhood atmosphere! I ordered a Guiness w/o looking at the menu, and then read over things. I was perturbed by how many non-Irish beers existed and the same goes for food. But I persevered and ordered the corned beef. Whoa! Totally non-traditional (didn't know you could twist a dish this simple) and it's now my favorite preparation of all-time, and I've been to Ireland. It's served in a bowl of sorts in liquid--much like eating mussels at an Italian place, the broth is incredibly savory and after 1 bite I couldn't stop...only wondering where the garlic toast was to dip into this broth--heck, I spooned it all in leaving nary a drop. Cabbage and red potatoes were perfect, and there was mustard on top of the dish, even if I ate most before taking a pic. Water bowls provided for the pups...I closed out, but now I want a 2nd meal to see how the fish n chips are, or the Shephards pie or bangers n mash. 5 stars doesn't cover the food, service, etc. I'm all-in and what a great 1st for me in RVA as I just moved here from Austin, TX. Thank you Sine!

I was excited to try this restaurant. Based on the reviews I thought, yum. Their motto is "This is it." I assure you, it is not! We arrived (3 of us) right around 6p. It was pretty empty, but I noticed several servers. I did notice they didn't seem to help each other out. Our drinks sat empty for close to 20 min (water and tea) on 2 separateoccasions. We were there for about 1 hour and 45 min. I ordered an Island Breeze. Tasty? Yes, but there was very little alcohol in it. We ordered chicken tenders for an app. It was mostly nugget sizes and a couple of actual tenders, and they were over fried, not tender at all, but more on the chewy side. They were not hot, which tells me they probably sat a bit before being brought out. We had waited so long at this point, so we ate them. Another long wait and our food arrived. At first, I was super impressed. I got the fish and chips. The fish on top looked huge and was very juicy and flavorful. I loved it! I thought things were looking up until I went to eat the rest of my meal. The 2 fish under the top fillet were so thin, no batter on parts, did not taste as fresh, and were fried to ruin. It was inedible. I literally chewed and chewed and then just spit it out. The burger was mid. My son couldn't finish his macaroni and cheese, which was actually penne and cheese. All of our fries were cold. Again, we waited so long, so it wasn't worth it. Our waitress was very slow. I generally give 20%, but gave a generous 15%. The desserts sounded good, but good grief, it was going on 2 hours! After tip $74. It was not worth it. Not at all. Very disappointed.

Its like the Dubliner in D.C. but with a huge place to dance. I went in for lunch around 2pm. Absolutely loved the alternative 80s rock of my college days. Siné is typically American Irish themed with Police unit patches stapled prominently. Guiness on tap, NOT so typical is the Glen Livvet and Glen Fiddich at LOW shelves. The Bangers and Mash tasted ok. The onions are definitely NOT canned but caramelized by the kitchen. The mash was smooth and velvety. The Sausages, I like whole, but they halved them like you would find in a sandwich. It was all plopped next to a monkey bowl of unremarkable canned beens. The food was ready in 4 songs or 80% of my first Guiness. I'm glad I couldn't tell if the food was microwaved. I think everything was cooked fine but wished for a toast for the beens. The Staff was friendly but busy doing inventory and cleaning. I'm guessing the staff was recovering and prepping for the weekend night of typical Richnond Club scene. This place is so popular at night, there is a LONG line to get in. I got to see the line barely move during the previous night from a balcony at the Hotel next door. The young ladies need to wear more clothing! (Their fathers must be proud) Do try to make it by 9pm or you'll have to wait in line and be mistaken for prostitutes awaiting "johns". Perhaps I'll take my kids for lunch when i visit next. I'll get there at 11am to enjoy the mimosas.

I don't even know where to begin. I literally just ordered from this place for pickup right now: Monday night at 9:00pm. I walk in and there are 10 people in the whole bar; super quiet and not busy. I was handed my food by the bartender and I noticed the container in the bag was extremely small (first red flag), but it still had some weight to it so I thought, "Okay". I ordered the 'Mam's Pot Roast'. I get home and open the container up to find this crap. One, the container is 95% mashed potatoes (very f-ing deceiving), but what really pissed me off was the fact that I was given 4 TINY A-S THIN strips of "brisket" that are literally as tiny as my fingers and spoon I am eating with....FOR A $17.99 MEAL. And I put it in quotes because the meat was gummy and disgusting; not to mention the gross, barely cooked giant chunks of celery 🤢. And as I mentioned, they weren't even busy (but maybe that is a tell tale sign, especially from all the other reviews). I live a block away and will definitely not ever order from here again. Don't say you weren't warned, or be surprised at what you get if you decide to order anything that doesn't come from a fryer.

First off, this irish pub located on Cary Street had a very interesting look like Celtic drawings on the ceiling and hard carved etchings into the bar. The booth that we sat in had a handmade stained glass window designed from wine bottles. The light fixtures were so unique looking. All of these Irish traditional touches added to the authenticity. The food was amazing. My husband had fish and chips while I had Bangers and Mash. Of course, Bangers and mash is a quintessential British dish of sausage and mashed potatoes, typically served with onion gravy. However, its roots extend to Ireland, where you'll find the dish in many local pubs. Thumbs up to the cook who cooked these dishes exceptionally well. The portions were generous while the prices were reasonable. For appetizers, we enjoyed their parmesan coated pretzels with beer cheese. Our food was prepared relatively fast. We didn't have to wait to be seated. The food arrived hot. The service staff was friendly and attentive. My favorite part is they have a wide selection of domestc and craft beers 🍻 on draft and I the bottle. I will definitely be back.

The Shepherd's Pie at Sine in Richmond, VA is truly the epitome of culinary perfection, surpassing any dish I have ever tasted. From the first bite, I was transported to a world of sublime flavors and textures that danced harmoniously on my palate. The expertly seasoned ground lamb, nestled beneath a generous layer of velvety mashed potatoes, was a revelation of tender and juicy goodness. Each mouthful was a symphony of savory aromas, as the rich meaty filling intertwined flawlessly with the delicate sweetness of caramelized onions and garden-fresh vegetables. The perfect balance of herbs and spices added depth and complexity, while a luscious gravy bathed the dish in a heavenly embrace. Every spoonful was a delightful journey, filling my senses with unparalleled satisfaction. Sine's Shepherd's Pie is an unrivaled masterpiece, deserving of its title as the best thing I have ever had the privilege to savor.
