The service was abysmal. Our party of three was one drink in and had ordered a second when our waitress (a redheaded girl in her early twenties who had mostly only told us "your drinks will be out soon", she never told us her name) cut us off, crying and refusing to elaborate. All she said was "I'm uncomfortable serving you all alcohol. You can talk to a manager." (We later found that in her mere two minutes of interaction with us, she had decided that the combination of a thicker accent and a minor verbal slip from one of us was drunken slurring of speech. That member of our party once had a genuine speech impairment and it becomes clear that they typically don't have difficulty speaking if they are given more than just one sentence to speak.)
After several more minutes, we received a lackluster apology from the manager (a man with a black beard, probably in his late 20s to early 30s) that didn't really address our concerns so much as explain and try to get us on their side. He explicitly said that, in his judgment, we appeared safe and at a reasonable level. Despite this, we went unattended for another 15-20 minutes after he walked away. We got fed up, had to bother a bartender in another section of the building for help, and paid. During all this time, I asked to pay my tab at least four times and they did not allow me to do so. They kept ignoring any requests we made for any kind of assistance.
Our food was comped, thankfully, but I'm frustrated that I even had to spend the ten dollars for my drink here following such a rude accusation after extremely minimal interaction from our server. She should have made some effort to either talk to us for more than three sentences to truly gage if our mannerisms were natural or from intoxication. If she couldn't do that, she should have gotten management sooner. Management should have handled the situation promptly, especially after having talked to us and assessing that we were fine. It should not have taken four attempts over 20 minutes to pay and leave the pub.
The whole ordeal consumed over 90 minutes our evening. It wasn't even packed in there, we were blatantly and repeatedly neglected by staff. This was my first time trying Siné. I will not be going back again and I will not recommend it to anyone. Such a severe breakdown of communication and respect is inexcusable under any circumstance. Don't waste your...

I had dinner tonight at Sinè in Richmond, VA, and unfortunately, it wasn’t a pleasant experience. Given the extreme heat today (98° but felt like 109°), I was surprised when my Corned Beef and Cabbage arrived as a hot stew-style dish, served in a soup bowl with salty broth — no soup spoon provided. I had to wait for my server to return just to request one. Not exactly what you'd hope for in mid-June weather.
The broth only got saltier the further I went, making the dish difficult to enjoy. I would’ve expected the corned beef and cabbage to be served on a plate, more in line with how it's traditionally done. No bread or dinner roll was offered either, which felt like a missed opportunity to round out the meal.
Service was equally underwhelming. My server, who said she was new, didn’t refill my water during dinner and offered only once I’d finished. When I mentioned the food was overly salted and that I wished I’d known it was served as soup, nothing was offered to make it right — not even a small gesture of goodwill.
To make things more awkward, she hovered over me as I was getting ready to pay, saying she could wait while I pulled out my card. I paid cash instead, and then she vanished completely. I had to hunt someone down just to close out, only to be met with a sarcastic remark from a bartender when I asked where my server had gone.
I ended up leaving the cash with the hostess, Sahara, who was the only professional part of the interaction. Overall, I found the staff (excluding the hostess) to be immature and poorly trained. The overly seasoned food, awkward service, and lack of attention to seasonal appropriateness fall on the management and kitchen leadership.
I really want to support Irish pubs in America, but this experience didn’t make it easy. Sadly, I won’t...
Read moreAtmosphere is 5, service is 1 star, parking is 0 stars street only in a busy area. We had dinner here on a Friday night, 3 people, and got a trainee server who utterly failed. Salad ordered, he didn't ask for dressing. Appetizer was dropped on the table and person ran off. The pretzels and cheese dip was stone cold and the dip was almost rock hard within minutes of arriving. Entrees came, no one asked if the person wanted salad dressing. Cheeseburger was ordered withOUT onions or tomatoes, that was the only topping on the burger, no cheese. Bangers and mash was pretty bland but ok, I only ate a few bites having run out of my drink. We were low on drinks when entrees were delivered and no refill was offered, server didn't come over to see if food was OK or that we needed anything else. We all ran out of drinks and no one came to check back. We could see the server and trainee talking with two other people by the end of the bar and tried to get their attention, neither were paying attention to the tables, they were really enjoying talking. The server came by to see if we wanted to-go boxes but we were still eating, we all wanted a refill (just soda and tea) so trainee dude came back, we had to tell him all our drinks, and he got 2 of 3 wrong, seriously. I wanted to love this place, it has a really nice atmosphere, but the servers are mediocre college dudes that don't have a clue about...
