Consider me biased, but I was born in Haysville and Riggs park has been a blissful component of my life. Riggs Park has evolved through several decades. The Cowskin Creek runs right through the park where I fished for crawdads, built hideouts, and had incredible cottonwood trees with giant root structures exposed by the creeks erosion. The tree we called "the Couch" is just a stump along it paved bike path, however the roots are tentacled about its adjacent subterranean cliff. Riggs Park has an Amazing Fall Festival every October and plenty of other beautiful interests like disc golf and public fishing (with proper state license). A public stage/bandshell has been there for 40 years at least and plenty of playground equipment. Read moreIts a nice little park with playground, pavilions, restrooms and even a little pond they stock with fish each year. It hosts many events and is close to the middle school and haysville activity center. My only complaint is the groups of young adults that gather here especially in the evenings that curse and scream profanities. Read moreI went to the Haysville Fall Festival! The only problem was that everything was told to close down early. Instead of staying open until 5pm. The carnival was still. Going until 5pm. But there were no food vendors let. Only a couple of other vendors were going slow to make sales. As an event director, that was the wrong call to do. As people were coming to buy stuff. But nowhere to spend the money but the carnival area. I was hoping to get some food. But instead, I had to go somewhere...
