Came here a few times for the tennis courts, but will not be back. There have always been homeless around this area minding their own business. Last night, though, a homeless man sitting behind Sonic saw us park, and then followed us onto the court when we went in. Luckily there was another door from the court to the playground, so when we noticed we were being followed we walked across the courts and out the back door to the playground where there were families. The man closed and locked the gate behind him when he entered the tennis court. He watched us for a minute from the court, and then left the courts to go back to his spot. We promptly left and did not stick around due to feeling unsafe.
A review on other times when we played there: The courts are unfortunately very cracked (overdue to be redone) and one net was sagging enough to be considered down. The cracks that run vertically straight down the middle of the court are prominent enough to cause balls to bounce in a random direction if they land on it. I did like that there are lights after sunset. There is also a small tennis wall on the...
Read moreWe moved from the Long Beach/Bellflower area. It's been our 2nd time here. And we're trying to get used to living out here in Riverside. Arlington park...Well, We love the park..but I don't know why their restrooms stay locked both days we've been here. Called the park and they said it stays locked because of graffiti tagged on the bathroom walls. Said maybe it stay locked because painting over grafitti. I just don't understand why keep it locked. People have been going towards the restrooms only to walk away grumbling because it's locked and they almost accident on themselves. The park is calm and nice. Having the restrooms locked that's the down side. People have to leave just to go somewhere to use it, thus cut their chillin at the park short. That includes me and my family. I really hope they do something about it, have...
Read morePickleball Courts and Tennis Courts - I am happy that Arlington Park now has two tennis courts with lights and four Pickleball courts in one of the two tennis courts. I am sad that the courts are very old and uneven because of the cracks. They need to be resurfaced and the two tennis courts should be separated. I hope that the city will enlarge the fencing around the two courts so that more spaces for the courts. It will be a perfect park after these measures are taken.
I heard and read about the development or conversion plan of this tennis courts to nine permanent pickleball courts. I was expecting it to be completed in 2024 but it has not been started yet. I really wish it to be...
