Don Jones Park — Attraction in Riverside

Public city park on the rather small side. Covers approximately 3.5 to 4.0 acres, located on Jefferson Street at the back of Ramona High School.

There are several impressively tall, older looking trees and mostly wide open spaces. You will also find a baseball diamond complete with two dugouts. This appears to be made for Little Leaguers.

If there are restrooms here they were not visible to normal view. There are only 3 picnic tables, these are located between the ball field and RUSD's Early Childhood Enrollment/Family Support Center portable buildings and classrooms. Center is just outside of the fence next to Ramona High.

No amenities are available at this park for barbeques or cooking. But there is a drinking fountain that is thoughtfully designed for both people...

Don Jones Park does not have much to offer—but we like it that way. It was once part of Ramona High School's 60-acre campus, but the 5-acre lot was sold to the city of Riverside years ago. It has re-furbished bathrooms, a water faucet and some parking. As a cross country and track & field coach, we love it for training—there is enough open grass to make a 400-meter loop and a 600-meter loop, let alone a 200-meter loop for interval training. Very nice park lots of people during the day but I don't recommend ladies being here by themselves as there has been recent stalkers now. My girlfriend was harassed and was afraid to use the bathroom by a man waiting in his truck for females to enter. I would come by during weekdays or...
