Asian Food Store — Attraction in Rochester

My wife and I spent the last +5 years in Raleigh NC but now back in Rochester.. we used to shop at HMart there... ie Asian super store chain. I've know the owner of this store for +15 years. Upon return to Rochester I have always frequented this store. Great people great product.. + great prices and advice/help. For example, I wanted to make Kimchi again after my wife and I watched watched the great South Korea series 'Queen of Tears'. I came in via the back entrance to see the owner coaching workers on how to ensure the best/honest/product packaging. Super busy man.. and store very busy (yay!).. yet he took the time to welcome me and ask me what I was looking for. He then personally walked me around and I filled by basket for Kimchi and Spicy Thai Basil chicken (this for only a $15 sale). This is a great man and family that have been in Rochester for +25 years well before other Asian stores arrived. Just super good old school 'earn your business' complimented by being wonderful ... provide great advice... plus great prices.. this is so rare I find today. I’ve never reviewed anything on Google maps in my life but I just had to go out of my way to say that this place is great. I have been a long time customer for years, but I haven’t been a regular customer since about 2018/2019. The owner is a really sweet older man and despite the fact that I haven’t been a regular customer in years, he still recognized me. My hair is different, my glasses are different, but he saw me and stopped to say hi and long time no see. This is the very best Asian food store in Rochester, Minnesota. We found our favorite rices (we keep four varieties in our home), along with some special items you can not normally find. There is something special for everyone from Asia, no matter what culture. Today, I bought Ponzu with lemon flavor and Natto. There is a huge selection of candies and sweets, both frozen and fresh fish, fresh fruits and vegetables, as well as a massive selection of frozen foods and canned.
