EDIT: After two months of persistence - they made right by the situation and refunded my stay.
I stayed at the Staybridge Suites near Mayo Clinic from April 22 - May 3 while recovering from a medical procedure - unfortunately, my experience was extremely underwhelming and downright stressful due to numerous material problems and safety issues withe the rooms and unprofessional service. I had reserved an accessible room in advance, knowing that I would not be able to walk on my leg after surgery. When I arrived, I was told there were no accessible rooms available. After 3 days of requesting a move to the front desk, one was finally available. Both rooms had multiple material issues and did not function safely or as advertised by the hotel. Both living room windows were severely cracked to where you could feel glass on your fingers when you touched it. Not fun having to sleep under that during a severe thunderstorm and tornado warning. Front desk said that housekeeping was aware of the cracks but closed the curtains to cover it. The AC was extremely loud, rattling all night like a engine. A drawer in the kitchen would open on its own, acting as a lock which completely stopped the door from opening even with a key. This is a major safety hazard if someone is trapped or immobile in the room and staff or first responders is able to enter. The pullout sofa bed was unusable. Not expecting these to be comfy, but they had springs poking through. Garbage disposal did not work causing dirty water to back up in the sink and not drain. Vent hood was broken and there was no circulation in the room. Was unable to cook or use the kitchen due to lack of ventilation. All light switches operated different things at different times even the master switch on. Was told by stall, all the wiring in the building is "bad". Housekeeping Issues; Dirty pillowcases with stains put on new bedding. Multiple hairs found rolled up in new towels. Different level of cleaning each day. Some days thorough, some not. Used latex gloves eft on coffee table. Trash left on the night stand next to a made bed. One bed made, one bed not (often the fallaway was completely ignored) Front of House issues: Frequently ignored requests to where you had to ask multiple times. When they would reply they would state how they have a lot of requests and staffing issues and at the end of the rant concluded with "but I guess that's not really your problem, is it?" Upon checkout, I spoke with a man at the front desk and detailed everything that had gone wrong. He literally held his head in his hands in disbelief and apologized. It seems each front of house members has drastically different information to work with. He said the best he cold do right now would be to refund the most he was allowed to (I believe $550 or something close) and to please call back and speak with GM Nancy Foster so she could refund the rest. It's been over two weeks since check out. I have called the front desk multiple times asking to speak with Ms. Foster, but she is never in the office and I have called at different times of the day.I've left multiple messages on her office phone and have not received a single call back. I just want to get my money back and forget about this place. This stay was unnecessarily stressful and directly impacted my recovery. I expected more from a property located so close to the Mayo Clinic, where many guests are medically vulnerable and need reliable accommodations. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this property to anyone - especially not to patients or...
Read moreTL;DR excellent extended stay option for Mayo Clinic and St. Mary’s. Better than Airbnb for perks such as gym, daily light cleaning service and events. 1 bedroom King bed was equipped with a kitchen, pullout couch and desk. Excellent location. Very safe. Thoughtful touches like Social hour and empathetic employees. Very well thought out hotel room that is clean. Jess, Kelly & Milton are wonderful!
I wanted to write a review that hopefully helps you when considering extended stay options. I stayed at Staybridge for 3 weeks in August very comfortably after extensively researching a variety of places from hotels to Airbnb. I’m glad we chose Staybridge and would stay here again. This review is for the 1-bedroom King room.
Kitchen Comes with pots, pan, and strainer. 2 burner stove that really only allows 1 to be used due to the configuration. It worked great for the several meals we made. Note that cookware is not very durable so if you intend to cook often, you might want to bring cookware if you can. It worked for us for our stay. Salt, pepper, sugar provided. Keurig machine included. Near full size fridge that worked great. Kitchen sink with dish soap included but bring your own sponge. Plates, bowls, tupperware, and utensils included. Dishwasher + dishwasher pods included. Microwave included, no oven. I was very impressed by the kitchen and it’s fully capable of cooking a great meal. The kitchen island was wonderful.
Living Room Couch turned into a bed which we loved. Not the most comfortable mattress so if you’re planning to sleep an extended amount of time on the sofa bed, I would recommend a mattress topper. Desk with chair was comfortable for working. Wi-Fi was reliable. Air conditioning worked great. Two A/C units, one in the living room, the other in the bedroom with its own thermostat which was wonderful. Very responsive A/C and worked quickly.
Bedroom King bed was comfortable for me. My husband needed additional padding for the bed. TV in bedroom was a nice touch along with its own A/C unit.
Bathroom Ventilation was great in the bathroom. Shower, no bath. Very clean and Dove soap products (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soap, lotion) were wonderful. Ample towels provided including a blow dryer
Other Notes The safe in the room worked very well There’s a wardrobe that was great for storage Hotel gym was great and came equipped with several cardio machines and weights Central location and walking distance to anywhere in downtown Rochester Lime scooters available nearby Parking at the hotel $15 per day, but street parking could also be found for free depending on the day Social hour Monday-Wednesday includes food, beer, wine, and delicious cookies - don’t miss this! Trivia Wednesday nights were great Really nice open patio with ample seating and a grill, very nice touch.
Lastly…thank you Jess, Kelly, and Milton for your incredible hospitality. You really went above and beyond and we are...

We are sad to report our experience as this hotel's rooms were very nice & the location wasn't terrible for getting to Mayo. Parking was a nightmare every time & often full, so beware of the charge for parking daily. The hotel is also not kid friendly, as we got a noise complaint at 8pm on a Saturday for our 2 year old crying for about 10 minutes before bed. The pool is very small.
We visited the hotel for 9 days during which our 7 year old was a patient at Mayo for a leg amputation as part of his battle against cancer. This is a 6 hour drive from our home one way.
First, our card was charged twice (extra $920). After repeated contact to have it fixed, it took disputing it on our credit card, & having the owner of the travel agency we were booked through contact the hotel for them to actually fix it.
Second, someone with a key card had to have entered into our room & taken the items we have noticed missing, as they were in very specific cases & bags & did not leave our hotel room during our stay. This means that someone had to have gone INTO & through our belongings to take the items we are missing. The items are small, easily pocketed, video games that amount to around $1800. These are the only things that have provided our previously mentioned 7 year old with any sort of entertainment while he's been hospitalized for chemo & the like. This was a small collection of about 30 games he & his 5 year old brother had been working the last 3 years at every holiday, birthday, & special savings of chore money to acquire.
We contacted the hotel NUMEROUS times to try to get our items found & resolved & were constantly told someone would call us or get back to us. We finally filed a police report, which resulted in a call from a manager to tell us that they didn't have our items & only our keycards & hotel staff entered our room (which we already suspected/knew, as we definitely didn't have anyone else in our room & had housekeeping come a couple of times). They essentially have told us we are out of luck & they won't be...
