One of my favorite places to come and check out. I've been there a few times now, and I love strolling through their array of cool plants.
They even stock natives too, and I think that's great. Along with that they have veggies, herbs, fruit trees, flowers, and other leafy plants. Including any and pretty much all the tools, supplies, supplements, etc that you might need.
They also have a great and extensive variety of seeds! The zucchini seeds I bought from their seed jars germinated excellently and have been very healthy plants!
The people who work there are really friendly and helpful. It's just feels like a good place to be.
Everytime I come out to Farmer's, I usually check out Wilson's down the road as well, which is a great spot too. To be honest though, it's hard to beat Farmer's large and interesting variety of plants.
P.S. I would love to see natives like Canada Goldenrod, Common Pokeweed, Eastern Baccharis, or Red Lobelia come to your shop. They are so helpful for pollinators and birds...
Read moreThe A. B. Poe Farmer's Exchange has been a family-owned business in Rock Hill for several generations. Several times, though, I've been surprised to find that the staff was not familiar with things that I thought were fairly well-known (for example, they didn't know what "jicama" was-- but then, the produce guy at my grocery store didn't either... perhaps it's a regional thing) ... also, they didn't know what "azomite" was, but then, the folks at Wilson's didn't either... overall, it's definitely better quality, and they can help you with SOME gardening questions. It's certainly a step above Lowe's...
Read moreSuch a quaint place. A throwback to a long ago time. Everyone was personable and welcoming, but Caroline went above and beyond. I called out of the blue and asked for a crash course on plants. She said, "Sure, I can. I'll be here, just come by." She did just what promised. She spent time with me and answered my plethora of questions. Caroline was so patient and knowledgeable, even though we were melting. Prepare for the heat in the nursery. I wasn't. Prepare for the hospitality, too!! She was so kind and her uncle walked me to my car to help with my...
