The Magnolia Room — Attraction in Rock Hill

There aren't enough superlatives to describe this spectacular venue. Merely approaching the grounds gives grand expectations of good things to come from The Magnolia Room (and there's plenty of free parking). You won't be disappointed. The staff with whom we worked, specifically Shirley Huffman, bent over backwards to accommodate us, make suggestions, and give much-needed advice all in a timely manner. My husband and I planned a 50th surprise party for our oldest daughter who is a resident of Rock Hill. We live in Arizona and Michigan and had to make this event for 80 guests (although the room could easily have held 150 more without crowding), coming from all over the United States, work long distance. Having orchestrated our fair share of formal gatherings through the years, we tend to be pretty OCD over every detail. Shirley made this easy even though we were hundreds of miles away. The Magnolia Room does not provide catering staff, bartenders, linens and florals, photographers, music, etc., but they do have a raft of suggestions for these vendors and at all price points. The event host (in this case, my husband and me) is the employer of the staff, not The Magnolia Room, and we loved that autonomy. We chose from Shirley's list and were very pleased with all of the talented, hardworking people we hired. The beautifully landscaped grounds lend an aura of graciousness, the indoor and outdoor lighting are worthy of a movie set, the air conditioning hum like a top, and the floor-to-ceiling windows enhance every aspect of this exquisite room. I received a letter yesterday in the mail from my original wedding venue stating they would be closing December 31st of this year and could no longer host my event on February 23, 2019. They provided a list of other possible venues which had The Magnolia Room listed. In this frantic time of having to essentially start over, I contacted Lisa at The Magnolia Room. Even though the venue was booked and I would not be able to have my special day here, Lisa still took time out of her day to help me.(I didn't even ask her to but she did it out of the kindness of her heart) She contacted another venue and gave her my information and explained the situation. I cater very often at the Magnolia Room. I absolutely love this venue. If I had more guests at my wedding this definitely would have been my first choice to be married and last year. I'm very familiar with this venue and every single wedding that is here looks different to the brides touch. I speak with Shirley from the Magnolia Room from time to time and she is always very kind and knowledgeable. Is a pleasure working with her for so many years.
