The House of Fade — Attraction in Rockaway

I called early on Sunday morning hoping for an appointment knowing that most places don’t seem to have same day availability or are able to take appointments over the phone anymore, and thankfully got one with Jess, I’ve been to a number of barber shops in the area and have been looking for a consistently good barber, the way I was used to have back in montclair to no avail. I showed Jess what I was looking for and shared some of my frustrations that I had had with other places, and she was more than accommodating. I don’t speak Spanish very well at all, but, she was able to articulate why she was cutting my hair a certain way and how to style that type of cut for me personally, and was was absolutely one of the most professional barbers I’ve seen out this way in a while. I never do this but I scheduled a follow up appointment right after. The prices are lower than comparable places (I got a beard shape up, fade, and she shaped up my eyebrows which was new for me for $50!) but the service is superior. All of the other staff was incredibly welcoming. Even if there are barbers in my town, this was worth the trip this will be my regular...

Been here 3 times and had no issues. The fourth time, I made an appointment with someone not my regular barber. As I waited patiently I was asked once if I had an appointment. I then explained that I didn’t mind going with him to cut my hair because I’ve been waiting 30 minutes and I just would like to get a cut at this point. I was told “he’s almost done” and if I could wait. 20 minutes (50 minutes total) later I’ve had 3 walk-ins come and go. The worst part about it, I heard one of the guys say “your man been waiting their for over an hour” (laughing)....and I was the only one there. Myself, as a professional, I respect all my customers. These people are the ones that drive my business and leave feedback, just as I am. I personally will never put myself through this shop again... quality is nothing without respect for customer...

Every single barber within these 4 walls have character, class, and most importantly, determination. The determination to have you walk out of that door with nothing but pure and utter satisfaction, happiness, and contentment with the work they provide. They will be my regular shop for years to come and I dont mind having my hair cut by any single person since they are all equally as gifted with Adults and Children.

The scene when you first walk in typically is one of a very youthful, upbeat, and modern type of feeling. After years of hiding from barbers and only going to salons due to having long hair, these barbers have demonstrated that they have the capability to work with any foundation or scalp haha. Truly have never experienced work of this quality. A must go !
