Absolutely Disappointed!
SHORT STORY: Be aware. This is business where they just want to drain your insurance. They absolutely don’t care about you and your medical conditions. They won’t even remember who you are or your medical conditions, but they will remember that you are due to an appointment so they can get M_O_N_E_Y and you get pretty much nothing or more like Appointment that you probably don’t need.
LONG STORY: I have Type 1 diabetes, which means I will have it for life, which means I will never be healed, which means I will have to take insulin till the rest of my life. I can take insulin with needles only, which means I will have to have the needles and the insulin prescription for life. Where I am going with this? I am a patient (or so I was until today), I have insurance and I run out of needles for my insulin on Friday. Called my pharmacy for a refill. They told me my doc rejected the refill. I asked them to submit a refill request again on Monday. They told me my doctor rejected the refill. I called my endocrinologist Dr He today. His front desk assistant told me with slight laughing in his voice “Well yes, we rejected it because you didn’t make an appointment to come see the doctor.” (SIDE NOTE: This is not the first time they will tell me this). Then he said I need to make an appointment so I can get the needles that my life depends on. Side note: It cost me $60 out of pocket to do one appointment and also probably cost my insurance $200-300 to pay them for an appointment that makes 0 sense. It makes no sense because I don't have a blood work requested to be done, and I am not asking for a new medication I am asking for a refill so why the heck I will go and pay $60 to get my prescription that my life depends on? I am currently taking steroids prescribed from a Rheumatologist connected with a leg complication. The steroids bring my blood sugar not to the sky but to the moon. I can’t even begin to explain how I can’t keep my insulin levels below 300 due to the steroids that I am taking. For everyone that understands diabetes this Is life or death for me.(SIDE NOTE: Dr He had 0 interest about my leg complication that I brought to his attention 6 months ago). Even the pharmacy gave me a hand full of FREE needles, until I settle the situation with my Endocrinologist. Even the pharmacy understands that this whole situation is WRONG. And as you know at the pharmacy they can’t give you a prescription, the doc has to do that. All my appointments with Dr He went in sitting in a room for 15-20 min alone, then 10 minutes with the nurse and probably 5 minutes face to face with the doctor. They will not even ask me to go my blood work before my appointments so they can see me one time for nothing or more like -$60 out of my pocket and drain my insurance; and second appointment a week later to discuss the blood work that I did by my suggestion and -$60 out of my pocket and drain the insurance AGAIN. This makes my first of 2 appointments kind of pointless, because I am not there to talk about “How I am feeling.”. Bottom line is I will not recommend this place to anyone. The doctor might be nice on the first appointment to get you in but then they wont even return your calls or even care to follow up on...
Read moreMy experience here was outstanding. Dr. He has an office off Rockville Pike near Montgomery College (near a bus line if you do not have a car). Dr. He was knowledge, empathetic and showed a genuine concern for my situation. He ordered some tests and diagnosed the situation after receiving test results and made an order for a medical procedure at a hospital. When my insurance company denied the procedure he called them and explained the situation and the insurance company immediately approved the procedure. When he got the procedure results he called me the next business day and explained the results and situation to me. If I need an endocrinologist I will...
Read moreI have been seeing Dr. He for two years for my hypothyroidism. I have had many problems getting the right meds and dosage. Dr. He has been very patient reviewing my condition and suggesting different brands and dosage as well as adding T3 to my meds. This has definitely helped and allowed me to lower my Synthroid dosage. I find his office, pleasant, professional and he is always on time. Our appointments do not need much time but he never cuts me off when I get into a discussion. I find Dr. He willing to listen and discuss as well as patient...
