I could not believe this litte gem of a place is just a steps away from me! Dracaena plants were one of my husbands favorite plant that he had for over 30 years. I searched high and low online and other stores to find this plant in his memory. I was so discouraged because everywhere I looked the price was incredibly high the plants looked smaller and inferior. The few I did find were quite expensive and there was no guarantee, with an online order, that the plant would look anything like its advertisement. Stepping into Bloom was like I had walked into a dream! I had never seen such beautiful plants of all kinds. Lo and Behold Dracaena(Corn Plants) were everywhere with such lusciousness that I hadnt seen in so long since my husband's first Dracaena. The prices were unbelievable, I ended up buying three! Tu's expertise and knowledge, patience along with his incredibly, helpful and friendly staff they helped me with all my plant needs and gave me such needed plant advice. Thank you Chicago Bloom!

I stopped by this new plant shop and was impressed with the number of plants available and the variety of the offerings. There's a good range that is sure to please fans of many types of plants. They even had one of my wishlist plants for a very reasonable price (I didn't get it because I'm running out of space!). There's also a good selection of pots and planters and I was able to pick up a nice little neon pothos and a cute planter for it that I gave away as a gift. The owner made it a point to show me the back which I was pleasantly surprised by. It's a very spacious area with a ton of flowers and some really lovely arrangements. The owner was very friendly and this is a great addition to the plant shop options in Chicago. I'll for sure be back in the future!

This summer we bought some hanging planters for our balcony. When it came time to change out the flowers for fall, we went to Chicago Bloom to get advice on fall plants that may last through winter. We worked with the owner, Tu Bloom, who showed us plants that would crystallize and look good in winter and others that would we can replace with evergreen at the end of fall. Tu took the time to walk us through plants he recommended and showed us how we could arrange them in a hanging planter and provided professional advice (i.e., cutting root balls of cabbage if too big; design basics: fill, thrill, spill). Today we planted our planters and they look fantastic and like they were professionally arranged! We will definitely be back to Chicago Bloom!

After moving across the country and having to donate some of my favorite plants, I was looking to replace the ones I left behind. I was so excited to purchase a plant from here because I heard amazing things and read many great reviews! I ordered a large plant and had no issues with delivery or communication. However, upon arrival I noticed some brown spots which continued to multiply and grow after a few weeks. I reached out to the shop with my concerns and the team responded quickly and gave me solid information on how to work through the problem. I took their advice and gave it some time. After waiting a few weeks, my plant unfortunately got worse and I decided to reach out again to ask if i could exchange it for a new plant or get a refund and repurchase. About 10 minutes later I received a call from the owner, who was extremely helpful and kind. They were extremely knowledgeable and took the time to explain the issue and offer possible solutions. The call ended with them offering me a full refund or exchange. I decided I wanted to exchange the plant for a new one so I drove over an hour that same day. When I got to the shop I was greeted by a few employees. One did not seem to believe I spoke to the owner because they “weren’t in the shop that day.” I explained the situation and even showed them my phone log that I got a call at 11:35am from Chicago Bloom and they still questioned me, even saying, “Well, we’ll see what the verdict is. It’s been two months and we don’t usually do refunds,” even though I KNEW what the verdict was since I spoke to the owner. It was odd. I understand miscommunication happens and that we all have bad days, but it was embarrassing to be deemed a liar even after explaining the situation multiple times. Eventually, another employee came out and confirmed that I had spoken to the owner. The employee who was rude to me immediately changed their tune and was very apologetic. My plan was to exchange the plant for a new one, but I was so flustered, annoyed, and worried they weren’t going to let me exchange it (after I drove an hour down there, with confirmation from the owner) I just wanted to get out of there so I took the refund and left! Overall, I’m very happy with how the owner responded to my issue and the great communication, but just disappointed in the employee’s response. The shop looked beautiful and I hope to go back at...

Quality of plants: EXCELLENT. Check out Yelp for my first review! My opinion hasn’t changed and I’ll still provide Chicago Bloom 5 stars. It is definitely worth the 8 mile drive. 40% of our plants have been purchased here.

Parking: easy to find and the shop is highly accessible via public transport.

Shop: squeaky clean & organized well. Shelvings provide an efficient way for browsing; while the music choice allows for a pleasantly soothing experience. With the expansion to the store, there is definitely more room for moving about.

Now, their online prices can be different than the in-store prices which was a bit confusing for my partner and me, but despite the discrepancy, we still ended up purchasing the plants we had our eyes set on.

Prices of the plants are fair given the quality. However, you may be able to save a couple bucks traveling elsewhere for some plants. Did I mention our 8 mile drive? Yes, this place is definitely worth going to–stand your ground and say “No” when offered pots to go with your plant(s).

They have a nice variety of plants, but I do wish to see some rotating plants (ie seasonal) every once in a while. We like to go here because we know what we can find.

Service: generally friendly! There has been times when I do feel a bit uncomfortable when staff keep a close eye on you. Care tips haven't been consistent, but everyone’s opinion on plant care varies!

This place is such a gem! I moved to Chicago a few months ago and Bloom has become my favorite spot in my neighborhood. The energy inside the store is great and their selection is amazing and constantly changing as they get new plants, which I love as it just adds to the excitement! I would be here all the time if I could but alas, I’m just a broke grad student and have to hold myself back lol. That being said, the prices are great. Some are comparable to other high quality plant stores but many are more affordable and you can even find a steal if you’re lucky. I got a big fiddle leaf fig (like 3 ft tall) for around $30 which is crazy!! The owner explained to me that they can have lower prices because they work with local growers, which is awesome. I have been there 3 or 4 times so far and the employees have always been very kind and helpful. The owner Tu is so nice and says hello to me every time! They recognized me already after my first visit which was a pleasant surprise, especially with masks. Also had no problem taking the time to help me and answer my (way too many) questions about what I was looking for and what could work with my apartment. I really couldn’t ask for more out of a plant store and I’m so happy I live...
