Absolutely horrible place. Beware! There's a "clause" that they can break your phone more and not be responsible for it. Brought my broken screen to be replaced. Even though the screen was broken the home button worked fine. When we picked it up the phone the home button no longer worked. They ordered a new screen because they said that was the issue?? They replaced the screen again and the home button still did not work. They then told me that it needed to be completely refreshed due to the screen being replaced as it could be a software glitch. I went home and did the full refresh which did nothing. The rep told me at this point that it happens sometimes and either they can order me a new home button which means I will no longer have the fingerprint ability (apparently an issue with the new iPhones) as it will no longer work with a new home button or basically I could just live with not having a home button. Interesting enough the fingerprint scanner still works but the home button does not. I said this was unacceptable and that they would need to replace my phone to which they stated there was a "clause" in what we signed (which is a digital signature reader with no screen!) that they are not responsible if they break it more. I explained that all he told us the signature was for was to allow them to open our phone. To which he responded we have the rules laminated on a piece of paper on the counter which they never showed us but was apparently what we were signing. I asked to speak to the manager who doesn't work weekends and left my name and number to be called as I was going out of town. They never called. I returned the following weekend to call again asking why I was never contacted to which he said he remembers me and he would take another message?? Really?? I understand you are very needing when your screen breaks and may be willing to take this risk but the lack of upfront communication, the bs reasons the phone was acting up, the lack of customer service and overall fact they can break your phone at no risk to them is ridiculous. Even if the "clause" is normal at all screen repair businesses I highly implore you to not use this establishment based on there horrible...
Read moreI first broke my screen and brought it to The Phone Guys and was very pleased with the customer service and how everything went. It was fast and only costed about $110. I was pleased and then swayed into purchasing the tempered glass. The next day, my phone screen happens to crack underneath the tempered glass, which I thought was fine, because what I was told was their was a 90 day warranty on the glass. I understand thier is no warranty on me dropping and re breaking the glass. But the break was under the tempered glass and looked kinda like a puncture. The tempered glass having no damage at all done to it. Within the next 2 days I brought it back to The Phone Guys and was told. That they only could warranty factory defects, which I thought this has to be a week point in the glass. The tempered glass was untouched but the bottom was shattered, and clearly cracking from a distinct point in the glass. They told me that they couldn't cover it even though 1. The tempered glass didn't do what I was told it would do. And 2 I didn't drop it, or damage it in any way it was simply a week point in the glass. I then began to explain it to them and even though I told them the truth they made me feel like I was somehow lying to them. Then to attempt to prove thier point they took the tempered glass off my phone and hit it with the tip of a pen to line it up with the so called impact point on my phone. It immediately broke which did nothing but prove my point that it was not an impact but a flaw with the screen. They then didn't offer to replace the tempered glass that they just broke in front of me, but told me they could replace my screen for a discount of 75$. Which seemed ridiculous. I then declined and left. Still looking for a place to fix my screen. Was very displeased that I was basically called a liar and that they didn't keep thier word. Don't be fooled by thier polite customer service in my opinion it was poor work on my phone that they did not...
Read moreWent to AT&T to try and figure out why my phone was having difficulty charging, they did a reboot and tried different batteries and finally came to the conclusion I needed a new charge port for my phone. They said they did not personally do that but I could try one of the phone places close by. Went to Phoneguys in Rogers and was appalled by the customer service first and foremost. I walked in and told the guy the issue and said that it is now then likely the charge port. He replied "no, it's probably the battery." After I told him that it wasn't and at&t tried a few different batteries, he argued with me stating he had been doing this a long time and fixes phones for a living, and it's the battery, I told him once again it wasn't. Then he tried to tell me it might be the charger, I told him that I have 3 chargers all the brand name chargers and it doesn't recognize any of them. He finally told me that he could fix the port but it's more than likely the battery, but if he fixes the port it would be $75 plus an extra $250 for when they break the screen. He says 9 out of 10 times they break the screen. Then I exclaimed "shouldn't that be on you, if you break my phone while repairing it, that's not my fault" they said because they can't eat that cost. If you can't cover your own actions and know how to work on a phone correctly without breaking it or don't have the correct materials to do so and keep breaking people's screens, maybe you shouldn't be working on phones. Took my business elsewhere and was very satisfied and they corrected the problem without breaking my screen but told me up front if they did, it would be on them to correct it. CUSTOMER SERVICE PEOPLE! Phoneguys are not acceptable in my book to actually be called a business. UPDATE: owner asked me to email him to personally talk about this situation, it's been a month and never...
