Kids Kingdom — Attraction in Rowlett

This is seriously the best park I have been to! I take my kids here several times a week and love the design. Specifically there is only one way to get into the play area which is brillant with little kids it's easier to keep an eye on who comes in and out and making sure your child stays safe! The flooring is amazing some really intelligent person realized that small pointy sticks/mulch like flooring wasn't ideal for small kids or any kid for that matter. That stuff gets in their shoes, your car and it can be hurtful. The flooring at this park is a mat like, foam material and GREAT! There is a place for small children and an area for older children. There is a zip line that my 9 year old loves and small tunnels that my 19 month old loves. There is huge trees with picnic tables and walking trails as well outside of the play area and also there is a water park right next to it during the summer months to enjoy. The city of Rowlett needs to step up and maintain their park. The sand pit is a joke - there is literally more sand outside the pit than in it. No exaggeration. The dinosaur structure stands on a massive metal base that takes up the whole center of the pit. And because there’s hardly any sand in the pit, the hard metal base is exposed, which is a hazard to little kids. Speaking of hazards, let’s talk about the many rips, holes, and uneven spots in the rubber matting they use. Is there some reason you couldn’t stick with the wood chips?? You got rid of natural wood chips, and replaced it with a rubber mat, which looks seriously ghetto and trashy with as many holes and rips as it has. This was a wonderful park, but it seems the city has forgotten about it.. it doesn't seem as if anything has been maintained in a while. Multiple blocked off features, merry go round would take a muscle man to turn it more than once, swings sound like they're screaming in agony every time they move, zip line will give your booty a buzz cut on the turf if you're more than 40lbs. Please don't go if you're afraid of creepy crawlies or wasps as the webs and nests now have taken over like Venezuelan gangs. I really hope Rowlett Parks and rec remember this place exists before nature fully...
