Disgusted by how I was treated by the pharmacy. Yesterday, I drop off a prescription they tell me great no problem we'll have it done before 8:00 I get a call an hour later hey we don't have the veterinarian who wrote the script in our system so we're going to have to call him and confirm tomorrow. This isn't great because it's lifesaving medicine I'm getting for my dog he can't really miss it but I say, fine that's okay. I call as soon as they open the next day to see if they got in contact with the vet to confirm the prescription. The girl says yes no problem we got it confirmed but we have to wait for one of the pills to come in our orders arrive at 3:00. That's fine, so at 5:00 I drive to the drive-thru and she happily only gives me one pill bottle and I'm like hey they're supposed to be two and the girl is like oh no it looks like that other pill bottle is coming in on Monday. I told her no I was told it would be there. The pharmacist comes out I don't know his name he looked a little bit like Dr Evil from Austin Powers. He holds the script up to the window and he says hey your veterinarian can't use a stamp he has to sign it. It looks like a signature to me not a stamp, but that's besides the point I tell him I called earlier and they said they would have my script and he says no they probably just meant one of them and I said no they were clear that it was for both and at this point I'm just like please give me my script back and he's like well no I wrote all over this one I don't think another pharmacist will take it. What? I went across the street to the CVS and they had my pill in stock and fulfilled my prescription right there! super ridiculous and I felt like each person I talked to there lied in some way but for what reason I don't know, just be honest and say you can't fulfill my prescription!! What if this had been human heart medicine they would have lied and let a human go 5 days without it? Also no one offered to look up where they did have my medicine in stock for me to drive there myself, which I didn't think to do at the time, but would have...
Read moreRobin and his pharmacy team are fantastic. Robin went above and beyond to help sort out an issue with my medication. He'd "inherited" my case due to another nearby Walgreen's inability to accurately fill the prescription.
The other Walgreen's location has almost zero regard for details, and they frequently try to fill brand-specific prescriptions with generic formulas. Since I am allergic to several fillers, each prescription's ingredients (for brand name and all generic manufacturers) must be researched before the script is written. An unauthorized substitution can make me really sick. Further complicating matters, my insurance is fussy about the way certain prescriptions are filled and will add a penalty fee to the price if the medication quantity doesn't align with their rules. It's confusing and inconvenient.
Robin understood the challenges immediately. Although it was already after 6pm when he received the transfer, he promptly began making calls to my insurance, the prescription manufacturer, the other Walgreen's location, and even a former pharmacy that had properly filled the prescription to make absolutely certain that I was being given the correct formula at the correct price. His diligence and effort resulted in a savings of over $2,000 for us, and he had the entire situation resolved within 24 hours. (The other Walgreen's location had been working on it for 10+ days without progress when we transferred the case to Robin.)
I feel confident that my prescriptions will be filled accurately with Robin and his team at the helm. I'm very grateful for their expertise, attention to detail, and commitment to...
Read moreI went through the drive thru straight from the dentist after having a crown put in. Dropped off prescriptions for antibiotics and pain killers. After an hour and a half I went to pickup and the same nervous looking staff member informed me that they were UNABLE to fill the script for the prescribed pain killers (only a few days worth of Tylenol) due to some state law that she wouldn't or couldn't offer any details except that since the dentist office had close and they needed to talk with them I was SOL. Confused, I paid for the antibiotics and asked for the prescription back to which she said, "You're not going to be able to fill that anywhere due to state law", but again, she was unable to expand on that. In much pain at this point I drove across the street to CVS and OMG what a difference! The store is newer, cleaner, and the staff much much more professional. The CVS pharmacist immediately filled the prescription while I waited within ten minutes! On top of that she gave me a discount that totaled almost half of the cost from Walgreens that wouldn't even fill it without reason! After I secured my prescription I asked about any state laws or problems with the prescription and told her of issues with Walgreens. She reviewed the prescription and said, "absolutely nothing wrong here" and seemed to already know of these sort of issues from across the street. Do yourself a favor, drive just across the street to CVS and pass on...
