My kiddo and I are on an adventure to explore all of the nearby playgrounds so we decided to see what this one is all about. There is no official parking. The street dead ends and you can park there or in front of someone's house. Not sure if there are additional entrances as I saw mention of trails. I didn't see any trails that lead from the park, unless they're un-paved.
The playground was quiet and we had it to ourselves. There are a few benches, no picnic tables. The playground backs up to trees and is mostly shaded, which was nice. This is a toddler friendly playground, the slides aren't too big and climbing it is doable. There is no restroom. There is no little free library.
This playground has potential. Unfortunately it appears that it is un-cared for. The 'fence' that surrounds the front is broken in a couple places. There are broken and abandoned toys everywhere. The tree coverage is nice, however there are broken tree limbs and sticks all over the playground. The mulch is thin and lacking. There is some graffiti on the slides and trash.
Not our favorite playground but it does offer a nice,...
Read moreA quiet, wooded park. The trails are well marked and there's at least one bench along the trail to rest at. During heavy rains the park can get pretty flooded but if you dress accordingly it makes for some pretty good pictures (for a much better photographer). Plenty of flora and fauna in this small patch of woods; deer, squirrels, skunks, ducks, bluejays, robins, wildflowers and mostly hardwood trees. There is a large pond at the north end of the park, this was actually created by a scout troop. This pond and the flooded areas do become spawning areas for large amounts of mosquitos, I strongly recommend applying bug spray or whatever you do to repel the things. They will fly into your face with total abandon. Good...
Read moreFun little park for taking kids on a short hike in the wilderness. I didnt want to take my 2 year old on the longer trails for fear of him wanting to be carried half way through. Easy to follow trails which are lined with sticks/fallen trees. Multiple routes you can take so you can get some variation. You wont need sunscreen on the trail but maybe some bug spray. Well maintained trails, nice little kids...
