Detroit Modular — Local services in Royal Oak

As someone new to modular, I am still finding new places that sell modules and Detroit Modular is one of them. I found this place while searching online for a VERY hard to find module and it turns out they actually had one in stock!! It seemed to good to be true so I wanted to make sure they actually had one available and I also had a few other questions so I emailed them. Someone got back to me within minutes, answered all my questions and had the module packed and ready to go that morning. I always appreciate good service, but Detroit Modular is providing excellent service! Because they were so helpful with my last order and went above and beyond, this is my new go-to place for my modules. I took a 4 hour drive from Xenia, Ohio last year the day after birthday to treat myself which happened to be on a saturday, when they close at 3. I showed up at 2:00ish for a demo and hoping to take some modules home to start building my eurorack. Without realizing how long it takes to decide which modules to purchase to get started and within a budget, i was there for a while. Till 5:00pm. 2 hours after close. I felt horrible. Trent was the guy willing to stay that long and help and was super chill, patient, and helpful. I’ve kept ordering online from them afterwards ever since. I ordered an Eowave Quadrantid Swarm from their website. When it arrived, it had been improperly assembled by the manufacturer and had cosmetic damage. I immediately reached out to both Detroit Modular and Eowave, and received a response from DM within 24 hours. They quickly (as quickly as shipping halfway across the country allows) exchanged the damaged unit for a new one at no charge. They stayed in contact with me every step of the way and were quick to reply to any messages I sent them. I still haven't heard from Eowave.
