Our kiddo and I are on an adventure to visit all of the nearby parks so stopped by to see what this park has to offer.
Google took us to the front of the Veteran Memorial which is located within the parking lot of a dealership. We turned right on Starr Rd past the dealership and parked closer to the playground. There are designated parking spaces for the park.
This park is very open, as you can see and hear all of the surrounding traffic. Despite all of the trees, the playground is un-shaded. I would say the playground is toddler friendly; the slides aren't too big and climbing isn't too difficult. There are no restrooms. There are benches, a picnic table and a Little Free Library. Behind the park is a bit marshy. There is a sidewalk that goes around the park but there are no sidewalk trails within the park.
The park is serene and provides plenty of shade for picnics or walking from the playground to the memorial. Between the memorial and the playground is a pavilion with plenty of picnic tables and two grills. There is also a SECOND Little Free Library next to it decorated and loaded with WWII books.

Read moreOur team participated in a 17u baseball tournament. Our boys were able to play on the Royal Oak Leprechaun's field.
It has been about 5 years since I visited this park for a tournament. During that time, it was a bit worn down. You can definitely see the updates now that the Leprechauns, which is a collegiate baseball team in the MLB affiliates GLSCL based in RO are playing at this park.
The infield is turf and the outfield is grass. They have added stadium seating, a nice scoreboard..etc.

It has playground equipment along with a covered gazebo with picnic tables and a bbq grill to cook on. There is also a United States veteran memorial tribute with flags, earning it the name Memorial Park. One may also go to the adjacent ballpark and watch a baseball game.
