August 9, 2019 Just returned from having lunch at Wahlburgers in Royal Oak. First, the good news - the food is delicious. We had the 1/3 burger, the triple burger, sweet potato tots, and crispy yukon gold french fries. Everything, including the sliced tomatoes on the burgers, was nice and fresh. Now for the "needs for improvement..." keep in mind they have just opened, lots of kinks to work out. We arrived before 11:30 a.m. Wait time is s l o w...when you walk in the door, the first thing you see is three employees at the Wahlburgers merchandise desk - $25 for a t-shirt, anyone? How about if you pay ME to advertise your business ;-) But I digress...you will have to wait to be seated, whether outside or inside; we only had to wait a few minutes for this. We elected to sit outside - it was a nice, but windy day. Then our wait began - for a waitress, for our food, for the bill. Before our waitress came, another employee came and explained the menu to us - good use of wait time. Once the waitress finally arrived, she took our order, and then the real wait began. We waited over 30 minutes for our food. Customers seated around us had the same wait. In the meantime, the wind was picking up, and the patio umbrellas were starting to fall over/collapse. As the time progressed, we heard employees tell prospective customers honest wait times - bravo for honesty. Several customers once informed of the long wait. Beaumont employees on a meal break are not going to have time to wait this long for a burger and fries. All employees were pleasant. If Wahlburgers is planning on being open for the Dream Cruise weekend, they need to add at least three times the staff, especially cooks in the kitchen. Our bill for two burgers/fries/tots/Coke/lemonade with tip came to @$36.00. Yikes! It will be a while before...
Read morePoorly laid out with zero vibe. And I mean ZipZeroZilch! The architect(s) really missed on this hodge podge of a complex. The hotel is finally ready to open after years of construction. but its orientation is totally wrong! They should have put the hotel entrance facing the opposite direction and then designed the back half of the complex so it feels like its part of the something interesting. The complex businesses would do much better if the endless stream of hotel guests (customers!) arrived and looked over a complex of shops, restaurants and services that were laid out in front of them with any degree of aesthetic, which it lacks! They missed making people feel like they are exiting the hotel, and walking over to something fresh and exciting. Instead its dullsville. The architects need to put down their pencils and find...
Read moreWoodward Corners Market is lovely. I give 5 for the ambience and prices, but 1 for the lack of employees greeting guests. The food selection and prices are really good. It’s not all inclusive, but they carry almost everything, plus cool specialty items. One person posting here complained about 10 cent bags. I think it’s a great idea. We need to remember to bring our own and stop wasting plastic. This was my second trip and none of the employees bothered to say HI either trip. This is very disappointing, since competition is so great in the retail world. I was within a couple feet of two different workers and they didn’t bother to look up or say Hello. I will say that the checkout workers were the only ones who...
