Sunset Park, also known as Sunset Memorial Park, is tiny narrow strip of land, two blocks long and a half block wide stretching from Union Avenue on the south, to Washington Avenue on the north, sided by Jackson Avenue on the west, dedicated as a memorial to those citizens of the Borough of Rutherford who served our country and perished during what is now known as World War 1. Throughout the circumference of the park one can find memorial trees planted and dedicated to those servicemen. On the Union Avenue side a nice little garden is planted, while on the Washington Avenue side there is a small pavilion with a commemorative set of headstones with several dedicated plaques, along with a key stone which shows exactly where each memorial tree is located.
