I really loved this place but a recent experienced caused me to not want to go back. I have been ordering the same exact dish for awhile with no issues. Typically, a woman answers the phone, takes my order and it comes out perfect every time.
The last time I called, I got a man who took my order differently. He asked what spice level I wanted my "spicy basil chicken at." I explained to him that I had never been asked and I wanted it whatever way it typically comes. When I asked him which way it typically comes - he said medium (this was incorrect). I ordered it medium and it was nothing like the normal order. I broke out in an allergic reaction which I never did on the typical order.
They re-made it and I thought they were going to make it the regular way but this time they made it with no spice. It was extremely sweet as though it had been soaked in oyster sauce and nothing else - there was no balance to the meal. A different employee indicated that the normal order comes with no spice which I'm thinking is also wrong since the food tasted really bad. Also, if it comes with no spice, why is it named Spicy Basil Chicken.........?
In any case, the difficulty in ordering a meal I've ordered a lot on the past and the flavor being way off, even when they re-made the dish, plus the time and money wasted. I could not eat the dish and had to go somewhere else. What...
Read moreThis place is a treasure. The care and quality is evident, down to every last detail. As far as Thai food goes, I think it has to be the best in Sacramento. Every plate that I witnessed being served looked phenomenal. We had the Eggplant Delight w/ chicken, the Papaya Salad, and Panang Curry w/ beef. The meat was tender, the curry was rich and flavorful, and I don't think I've ever had eggplant taste that good. Word of caution... if you ask for 3 stars heat level, it will be 3 stars heat level. Meaning its gonna pack some heat! For us, this was just what we wanted. So that's the food. The music is WORLD CLASS. We saw owner/pianist Joe Gilman perform with saxophonist/flautist Mike McMullen, drummer Tim Metz, and bassist Matt Robinson. For this performance they did jazz renditions of the works J.S. Bach. It was fantastic! I advise getting on their email list and checking out their music calendar. There is tons of great music going on there constantly. So you don't only get great food, you get excellent music as well. That's a good bang for your buck! Thank you Twin Lotus Thai for serving delicious authentic Thai food and keeping the...
Read moreFirst time dinning in with my husband. Though I have been ordering out for months now. My husband and I we like this food. When we came inside my husband thought that maybe it was a private event that I went up to the counter and asked if we were able to dine in cause there was a large group of people and they were singing.
So we were able to sit down anywhere we wanted and we enjoyed the live singing that anyone that has the courage to go up and sing can.
The food was good. The spicy basil was really good and lots of flavor. The fried egg I would have want the yoke runny . The fried rice needed more seasoning or something. Over all it was good. The dim sum they are super small. I can go to T4 u and get dim sum 2 of them half of price what I paid which it was $8. The shrimp roll it was different thin layer only with shrimp. I think it was $9 maybe not to sure. Would I buy it again? No.
The ladies were working hard they were nice. They just gave us the wrong straws since we were not able to drink up the jelly's lol.
Do I recommend this...
