Able Chimney Sweeps — Attraction in Saint Paul

If I could give Able Chimney 100 stars, I would! Vera and Mike were so incredible to work with!! We had a client that was closing on their home in roughly 7 days (this was over Memorial Day weekend) and a chimney repair that needed to be completed before then. I had made several calls before I found Able Chimney and as usual, I would get either no answer or a voicemail (or everyone's favorite - "this number is no longer in service).

My call was picked up by Vera on the 2nd ring - she asked me a handful of questions and asked me to send over any pictures or information that I had on the issue at hand. She said she would take the information and provide it to Mike and call me back within the hour to let me know if it was something they could fix.

I received a call back within the hour (how refreshing to have someone follow up as promised) and spoke with Mike. He said he looked over the pictures and he thought it was something they could take care of. He knew of our tight timeline (and even though he was booked out to the end of the year) he offered to drive to the property after we got off the phone and check it out.

I received a call from our clients stating they were so incredibly impressed by Mike's communication and thoroughness. Mike was able to fix the issue on the spot and for a fraction of the price that we expected.

Able did a fantastic job. A wood-burning fireplace was a must for me in my house search as it’s one of those winter things that has a major positive impact on my mood. We had able do an inspection shortly after closing on our new to us home. They came promptly, were great about communication and had me look at the scope camera output so I understood every problem. They sent a proposal outlining issues and costs. I shopped around a bit, and actually had Nick’s chimney come out to bid and do the work. I had to chase down Nick’s for weeks, when looking at the chimney their crew missed a major problem because they didn’t have the scope camera like able, so I actually had to point out the issue to them. Nick’s left without doing the work and after multiple follow-up calls they told me a part was backordered (a part they told me I didn’t need). Soooo I asked them not to come back and contacted Able again. Just like the first time, they were excellent communicators, came when they said they would - and actually offered me a quicker appointment because of a cancellation- their crew was professional and working on different parts of the chimney for 2.5 days. Start to finish, the experience with Able was fantastic. When I called and explained my concerns as a first time homeowner, they took the time to pull up a photo of my house from Street View and kindly talk me through the likely set up of my flues and how they work. Able told me that my main concern should be addressed by a furnace flue cleaning company, emailed the referral to me, then asked if I'd like to set that up first before scheduling anything with Able. I appreciate 1. the honesty about the services offered, 2. the referral to a highly reviewed company that could address my main concern, and 3. Not pressuring me to schedule anything with Able for a lesser concern until I had the other issue sorted. I did go ahead and schedule a level 2 inspection with Able for my fireplace chimney, as I had no idea what condition it was in. Alberto arrived promptly at the scheduled time, was clean, courteous, efficient and professional. He showed me with the video camera and photos where the problem spots were, explained the anatomy of my fireplace, and patiently answered all my questions.
