We went here during the snow storm on Sunday night. I booked tickets online to see the new ghost Busters movie for myself, wife and two kids 11 and 7. My 7 yo son had never been to a movie theater so this was a great experience. My daughter who had only been to a large new silver city type theater center was taken back at first when she saw the retro looking sign and building but was soon impressed and may have learned to appreciate some things with a bit of history. The tickets were only 8 dollars each which I thought was pretty excellent for almost two hours of entertainment. To claim them at the front I only had to provide the last four digits of the card I booked them with and the staff was very friendly and helpful. We ordered drinks and popcorn which my wife paid for so I didn't catch the price although I believe they were to be expected theater prices. Maybe 6 bucks for a very large "medium" soft drink. The atmosphere outside the seating areas was most excellent and seemed very original and classic. The workers are always pleasant and the spaces kept clean. Yes, you will probably get more impressive visuals and sound at the suburban megaplex, but there is nothing wrong at this theater by any means (as used to be the case at smaller indy venues).
Going out to see a movie is increasingly optional, and when we do we much prefer to do so at the Grandview and other small local theaters. It's simply a less expensive, less...
Read moreWe attended the Cat Video Festival. We are both handicapped. It was on 2nd floor. THERE IS NO ELEVATOR. THIS WAS NOT MENTIONED ON THE WEBSITE FOR THE CAT VIDEOS! NO STAFF OFFERED TO HELP (perhaps not their fault. There were only three when we arrived, and only one when we left.) Second floor of Grandview Theatre is NOT ADA! The floor is heavily sloped. The stairs are steep. We had a lot of trouble accessing seats, and again, NO HELP FROM STAFF! If I Had known all of this, I would NOT have attended cat videos at Grandview! My advice to anyone...
