Fantastic community center. I'm so glad they re-opened after recent heartbreak. My (little) kids love the outdoor playground, huge football field, and indoor pool. I love the ample free parking and genuinely caring helpful staff. My 2yr old especially loves the kiddie pool / splash pad. It has slides, fountains, water toys, and a very gradual slope from 0 depth to maybe 2.5 feet at the deepest. It's great for both playing and for practicing swim lessons in warm shallow water. I appreciate that it's relatively inexpensive (free under 3), clean, safe, and easy for parents. There's lots of adult seating all around the outside, and vigilant lifeguards who maintain focus by walking the perimeter continuously, with a very short shift rotation. I've never seen a piece of trash anywhere inside, including the large locker room. It's $1 for a lock, and there are lots of shower rooms plus 2 large family rooms with toilet, shower, and changing table all together. I highly recommend...
Read moreI was here during covid. They are only allowing a single private swim team to use their pool. (STAR swim team if you're curious) I'm just thankful to be able to swim. It's my main source of exercise and what I do to regulate my mental health. I'm so very thankful for this place allowing STAR to use the facility. The place is great for a play date or young kids when not in a pandemic. They require masks and showers but like I said this is during covid times. Rest assured they're doing everything they can to help keep the risk down short of closing their doors to a swim team that has been very serious about covid regulations. Lots of love to them and their hard work. To all the employees and to my coaches. Thank you to everyone who have done their best to help with covid restrictions and properly quarantining themselves. Let's beat this pandemic together, wear a mask and get vaccinated and never forget that you...
Read moreBeing from this community and growing up in the rec centers such as jimmy lee leaves me disappointed. We complain about our youth not having things to do and guess why.....the rec centers are ran like a business and only about making money. The kids get talked to like they are criminals. They could careless about girls and sports and have people working there they have no clue about this area. So they treat those that were the reason for this new field and bigger gym and the new playground like the plague. The morning staff has no clue they act like a live switch board and complain themselves that they don't have enough training. Just not a place that belongs in the...
