I went in to get a beginner board for someone of a little heavier build. The staff member insisted on building a brand new board. We built the board and it came out to over $200! Granted he gave me a discount knocking it down to $180 however once going home and doing proper research on this brand called "story" I've found countless people with issues with their products. You can also build this exact same board on other sites for almost $50 LESS! The return policy on their website states any items unused or not worn can be returned. I called the store the following morning and was given a very stubborn "no return" and countless "you should've known" comments. The board was never riden or touched after being put in the car. The staff member never told me how once packages where opened you can't return it. I should've known by how much he was trying to just sell and upcharge. The only reason I walked out that store yesterday with a board was to help out a local skate shop. Definitely...
Read more10/10 recommend their School of Skatin' program! I enrolled my oldest (12y) in the spring break camp, and he had an absolute blast. My kids are all homeschooled, and finding programs that truly meet his expectations has been incredibly HARD. Not only is he big for his age, but his maturity and intellect are through the roof—meaning he gets easily bored and often feels out of place.
Despite the age gap between him and some of the other kids in this camp session, he connected with the coaches on such a solid level that it didn’t even phase him. This is the first program I’ve put him in where he didn’t have a single complaint—and trust me, he’s a true critic. I never once questioned his safety, and this program embodies the real, rugged heart of skating that’s so hard to find these days.
We’ll be back for all the camps, and we’ll be purchasing all of his gear from this great...
Read moreThis review applies to their summer camp. The staff that was supposed to take care of our 6 years old was incaple of even spelling the word pedagogy and had no clue on how to handle a normally active boy. They threw our son out of their camp without reimbursing us of the weeks paid in advance. The owner has failed to return any of our calls and emails since. The reason was that our son would not follow instructions. You should have seen the hatred in the eye of the teenager that was supposed to be teaching my son. Looks like he was NOT someone who should teach any kid. Our son has been striving at other summer camps, is also progressing great in his kung fu classes. He is doing just fine when with someone that understand how to deal with kids his age.
Update: we finally got reimbursed after posting this review,...
