This place has gone so far downhill in the last year. Loyal IHG members but not for this location anymore. We stayed here May 2024 as it’s 2 blocks from Bayfront. It was fabulous for my procedure I was coming in from the Kissimmee area for. Clean everyone was friendly, felt safe, pet friendly. Nice kitchenettes. That was then. Now? January 2025 another procedure & we will never stay here again. It was disgustingly filthy. It’s like they haven’t cleaned since we stayed last. Pictures attached. The room had visible mold in multiple places. Half the kitchen items were missing. We seriously had one spoon. The pot had a broken handle & wasn’t clean even if I wanted to use it. There was no dishrag or sponge. The under sink areas were disgusting. With stains & just unidentifiable gunk. There was a giant crack in the granite in the kitchen with a burn mark on the counter & also a gap in the bathroom counter that someone had left a penny in. How long has that been there? The drawer was broken in the bathroom vanity. The burners on the stove were filthy & there was crusty cheese on one of the kitchen cabinets visible when we walked in a long with tape & other debris everywhere. There was a giant hole in the carpet in the living room. The carpet in the bedroom was crunchy. Broken tiles. Mold, mold and more mold. Bugs in the lights, a solid 1/2 inch of dust in every light, on every baseboard, & in the cabinets, The smell was godawful. The bed stank. (Though thankfully free of bedbugs or we would have been out regardless). The furnace made the most horrendous noise. The pet area wasn’t maintained or lit & I ruined a pair of shoes walking through it the first night. When I walked into the lobby I took off my shoes so I wouldn’t track and asked the desk associate for a trash bag stating what happened. He just handed me a bag and walked back to the back room again without saying a word. Which was extremely awkward. I’m disabled & use forearm crutches so balancing a dog, my shoes, me and a garbage bag was not fun. The rug outside had dog poo on it that my shoes had gotten on it & it was still there when we checked out 3days later. That and asking for an extra sheet for the couch so my retriever didn’t get hair on anything as there were no extra linens in the room were the only interactions I had with staff. I can say that female desk agent for that was at least friendly and courteous. My mother saw 3 employees. The member of staff that checked her in. Who was fine. She also saw one worker that cleaned the lobby during the afternoon check-in. That was the only member of cleaning staff we saw the entire stay. Then an extremely rude member of staff that flipped out on her when she was throwing something in the trash downstairs with our golden retriever. To whoever works in foodstuffs that has issues with dogs they were flat out lucky we have a non reactive golden retriever and not some other dog that would startle when both owner & dog are yelled at suddenly by a stranger. Shrieking at a dog (which again we have a golden retriever, literally the friendliest breed to exist) that’s 10ft away from you and leaning against its owner simply for existing in a pet friendly hotel because you personally don’t like or have a fear of dogs isn’t acceptable. Otherwise the entire time we were there the desk was unmanned. The doors were unlocked & anyone could enter off the street, like my Mom did at 4am taking the dog out. Some of the guests during breakfast time we questioned if they were guests or if they were unhoused individuals. We did not feel safe during this stay as it felt like no one was watching who was coming or going. We didn’t see or hear any of the cleaning staff in the halls. Or any other employees. The only reason we did not immediately check back out was we got there at 7pm, I was having my procedure at 7:30 am, Gasparilla was going on so no other reservations anywhere & there were at least no bed bugs. 2stars for location & no bedbugs. Outrageous for the price.

On previous trips to St Pete I had stayed closer to the Pier area but parking is a challenge and many hotels have valet only -- which is a nuisance if you leave several times a day -- so the Staybridge free parking lot and location was worth a try. The hotel rates are pretty close to others but without the parking fees, although the parking lot is very crowded. Well, as someone else noted in a review, this hotel was a big disappointment. I wish I had taken my $1,000 (six nights) elsewhere. To start with, I had a 3-day reservation but my business in St Pete was delayed by a day so I called the hotel to ask if I could move it back one day, and still have the three nights. They said I could if I sent them my new "itinerary," meaning my other hotel reservation. I explained that I did not have one and was told I would have to pay for the night anyway, so I decided to go ahead to St Pete and take a day sightseeing. The front desk staff was very pleasant for the entire stay and the room was large and well lighted. The shower rod was about to fall down, and I mentioned it to the desk on the second day and was told they would fix it. They never did. The bed was comfortable and the work desk was great. For a large room it was missing a luggage rack. The breakfasts were mediocre so I usually walked to a local coffee shop. The hotel orange juice was weak and watery. I had to extend my stay for three days and felt a weird vibe the longer I was there -- it was less of an overnight or weekend hotel than a long-term stay-place -- the same mothers in the morning scolding kids with backpacks to hurry and eat breakfast or be late for school... also a group of people who seemed to hang out all day at the pool or the gazebos behind the hotel. And the pool itself was crowded with up to a dozen kids most afternoons, which was odd since I never saw that many in the halls. Regulars sat on the patio and smoked afternoons and evenings. And daily maid service is "by request." The location was in fact convenient -- minutes to downtown or Albert Whitted Airport or the Pier, but the area had a seedy feel after dark, not conducive to walking the neighborhood. The hotel was quiet most evenings except for one night there was a loud grinding noise for hours until about 10 -- I think my second floor room was over the exercise room. Other maintenance issues: the faucet handles were all loose and "swingy" and something had been taken off the wall (photo). The stairwell exit door handle was missing -- a maid told me they would fix it right away but the door was propped open for the rest of my time there. I had time to look at other nearby options and small inns with 20 or 30 rooms, and parking, and will opt for one of them on my next St Pete visit. Not a repeat customer for this hotel.

A Memorable Stay at Staybridge Suites in St. Petersburg Downtown My recent stay at Staybridge Suites in St. Petersburg Downtown was nothing short of amazing. From the moment I stepped through the doors, I was greeted by a friendly and inviting staff, setting the tone for a truly enjoyable experience. One of the standout aspects of my stay was the cleanliness and welcoming ambiance of the room. The attention to detail in maintaining a pristine environment was evident, and it made me feel comfortable and at home throughout my stay. The room was well-appointed, providing all the necessary amenities for a relaxing and convenient stay. The location of Staybridge Suites was absolutely perfect, especially for those interested in attending a Tampa Rays game at Tropicana Field. Being within walking distance of the stadium was incredibly convenient and saved me the hassle of finding parking or dealing with transportation. It was a major plus and added to the overall convenience and enjoyment of my visit. However, the true hidden gem of my stay was the kitchen staff. The complimentary breakfast they provided was simply outstanding. The variety and quality of the offerings surpassed any other hotel breakfast I have ever had. From fresh pastries top fresh eggs and bacon, the breakfast spread was a delightful culinary experience that exceeded my expectations. The kitchen staff's attention to detail and commitment to providing a memorable dining experience truly shone through. Based on my exceptional stay, I can confidently say that I will be choosing Staybridge Suites in St. Petersburg Downtown again when I visit Tampa. The combination of friendly and inviting staff, clean and welcoming rooms, convenient location, and the remarkable breakfast experience made my stay truly memorable. If you're looking for a hotel that goes above and beyond to ensure guest satisfaction, I highly recommend Staybridge Suites. Whether you're in town for a game or simply exploring St. Petersburg and Tampa, this hotel will provide you with an exceptional stay that will leave a lasting impression. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

I spent a long week-end at the StayBridge in St Pete Florida recently. It was a mostly enjoyable experience but there were a couple of issues. I found the location to be excellent as it's close to the downtown area and next to the freeway for easy access. The hotel is well maintained and the staff were very pleasant to deal with during my time there. Once again it seems that the issue started during the check-in process. IHG still does not have the ability to submit a reservation with two payment types after all of this time and it can end up causing problems. I used a free night and points to pay for my stay there and it required two separate reservations. When I checked in I made the receptionist aware of this and was told she merged the records so I wouldn't have to change rooms, etc... During the 2nd day when I returned to the room my key card would not work to let me in the room. Housekeeping was nearby and let me in the room so I could grab my ID before going down to the front desk to get it reprogrammed. The receptionist at the front desk stated that he had me checking out that day and basically the reservation was messed up. He was having issues with his computer terminal and could not update my key cards so it would take longer than usual as he needed to boot his computer as the interface was down. It was not a problem and I told him I'd be back in 5 minutes. When I returned everything was ready to go and I was on my way up to the room after about 10 minutes. When I got back to my room after only about 10 minutes i noticed that all of my food stuffs were missing. I spoke to housekeeping who were still in the hall and they had not been in the room as they knew I was not checking out. It turns out that some other crew comes by and also cleans rooms and they also thought I was checking out and threw everything out until they noticed by luggage, laptop, shaving kit still in the room. I was only mildly perturb as it was not that costly but a pain to replace. When I spoke to the front desk they were sending someone to resolve the issue. She had me write down what was missing and they would replace. Saying they would make me whole. I only listed the major things and offered to just grab a few things from the hotel store, but she insisted they would take care of it and replace it. Unfortunately after a 4 day, 3 night stay I never received anything in the way of replacement items or a follow up call. I did not mention it again as I already spent too much energy dealing with it.

I have stayed at this hotel before and I would stay there again. The staff are top notch and make for an enjoyable stay usually. i believe this was an exception to the normally pleasant experience caused by out dated computer programs and lack of follow though. I'm not sure what happened regarding not getting the replacement items but that one little thing left a bad feeling regarding my stay. If not for those issues I would have rated my stay as...

The hotel is well maintained and the staff were very pleasant to deal with during my time there. Once again it seems that the issue started during the check-in process. IHG still does not have the ability to submit a reservation with two payment types after all of this time and it can end up with problems.

The staff are top notch and make for an enjoyable stay usual. i believe this was an exception to the normally pleasant experience caused by and out dated computer programs and lack of follow though. ...
