Be cautious when working with this yard. The quality of their work is solid, but it’s absolutely essential to get everything in writing up front. They’re hesitant to provide firm estimates, and communication throughout the process was frustrating. I ran into several unwelcome surprises on the final bill:
Travelift: Quoted $684, billed $836
Rudder replacement labor: Quoted $3,000–$3,500, billed $3,997
Bottom prep: Billed $1,120 to "light sand bottom and rinse off boat; clean barnacle nickels off bottom" — on top of the $1,610 already paid for bottom paint labor
Boat wash: Billed $1,571.38 for "Wash Boat - Labor and materials," which I never requested
I wasn’t excited to get my boat back — just relieved the ordeal was over. Between the weak communication and surprise charges, the experience was stressful.
